Tell me about SLK200/250 (AMG)...

If you can't afford to buy a used M3 outright then what are you going to do when it ***** your wallet with a £1000 bill for brakes and tyres or other generic cost associated with 'M' ownership? Borrow more money? Just because you can afford the finance, fuel and insurance does not mean you can afford to run the car.

I am talking about buying outright matey, running it isn't a problem, I just don't have the capital to purchase it now... With other things, it'll take me til the end of 2012 to get the money I need for it and that's if I don't buy a formula ford first, so it may be a slightly longer wait... Depends on a few factors and what I want first. Also, if credit rating has improved enough by then, I may get both.

I'm very bad with my money, gets spent far too quickly, more I earn, more I spend. Getting better though... It helps to have targets like caterham and M3, plus I'm finally happy with how I've kitted out my house...

What I was saying above was, if my credit rating was acceptable... I would already have an M3... The reason I don't is because I need the capital

I think you will have missed the boat the deals have to be completed and registered by the 31st of dec to quailify for these prices,( these deals are being under written by Merc UK )but that could have been a sales patter, the deals were even better at the beginning of the month, 150pm 3+11, +vat. Mine is being delivered tommorrow.

Opal red 200auto with beige leather air scarf + others

although be aware merc fleet is a stickler for talking back damaged and non perfect cars and charge accordingly

bullit in head

Yeah, that's what the dealer said... I would have til tomorrow morning if going through them.

The best deal I've found is a pre-reg with delivery miles that's in stock, no such time frame... But I bet they don't have much stock left!

Is that a typo? £150 (180) PCM???? Or 250? Also, does it include maintenance?

Thanks for the advice, dealer warned me about that too, the insurance cover for this is quite reasonable though, something I would opt for.

That said why would you want maintenance any way? Your not going to have it serviced in the first year 10k miles. And a set of tyres?

Wow, steal!

I want the mod-cons, leather etc... But I would have been sorely tempted by £180/month without.

I haven't looked at the service schedule, I would have assumed there would be a run-in service or two?

Suppose I shouldnt get through a set of tyres in 10-12k miles as it won't be tracked of course.

If no service necessary, that explains why this specific deal mentions it to be included while others don't. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Insurance is good for me too... £1001 for the year. I'm 24 with 2 years NCB and a non-fault accident at the end of September who's used to paying £1500-2000 for Jag XKR / classic scoob.

Nearly pulled the trigger on a 2 year lease on one of these a couple of weeks ago when they were *very* cheap.... decided I already don't drive enough to warrant getting a new car right now. :o

mines just arrived yippe.....well happy, not the most glamourous of cars to get out of, but I'll get use to it

was talking to the delivery guy, said there were 90 left at his depot not assigned, so you might be able to get good deal as well.

fair do's, I went the other way, got bored of bangernomics 9 months in.

600 quid on a saab 900 convertible, I'm to perticular about cars I like them to work perfectly, so with bangers I'm spending out and under the bloody thing all the time, cold and disheartning this time of year.
on the bright side my saab is now perfect mechanically , just as I want to sell it. so time and money wasted, as I wont get it back.

Fair dos, I can see the temptation at these prices... Perhaps obviously so as they nearly pulled me in.

It's just money that could be going towards other things, which would definitely annoy me if I didn't like it enough. If it had been an instant yes when I drovethe thing, I don't think I would have been dissappointed, it's just my niggles wouldn't help.

So I'll now most likely end up with a mk1 mx5 again or maybe a diesel bimmer.

I'm looking at a 250 cdi deal at the moment, 3+23 for 15k p/a inc leather, metallic paint and heated seats for £295 p/m inc vat. It's a standard model rather than the amg but it feels like a good deal.

That's pretty good - I actually applied for one last week :)

Similar model, but with airscarf and a few other bits... 3+23... £239.99 inc VAT

Only 10,000 miles included, though the excess mileage rate is 11p & it includes any tyres/servicing should I need it, apparently.

Just couldn't resist it... the sensible option rather than a banger

That sounds like a good deal, who did you do it through? Also is yours from stock as I was offered a car on Friday which was ideal apart from having grey leather, I declined it but I'm wondering if I was being too picky.

I'm starting to realise that there is nothing simple about leasing cars because you never deal with the supplying dealer only through brokers who just seem to be about shifting as many units as possible.

I was offered one in Galenite Silver with Crystal leather, what do you think of that combo?

If you want a diesel why not get a C class coupe? Diesel cabs are just bizarre.
