Not your average How hot is too hot thread.

Just interested to know if there is a limit to how cold data storage such as cd's, dvd's, flash drives, floppy disks, and hard drives can go before they become damaged and loose there data?

Obviously too hot and they will melt lol

I have no idea, heres a guess that CDs and DVD Rs and RWs will probably go at -5, Id imagine proper ones would be a bit better.

Flash drives I reckon could be pretty resillant.

Sometimes a failed hard drive can be given a little burst of new life by sticking it in a freezer for a while. Condensation of course will do it no good, but the temperature seems not to harm them.

I fail to see why CDs or flash media would be affected by cold temps though. Check various flash memory stick manufacturers sites and see if they have specific operating or storage conditions.

It's ingenius the old freezer fix for a dead hard drive! have to work quick though! and you are doomed if the os is on the drive especially if it is a slow one lol
