Temporary breakdown cover?

have you got a windbreak for the F? when I got one it made a HUGE difference. mine is the OEM fit one with a single hoop of metal filled with a gauze type stuff. It makes a HUGE difference to the amount of cold air whipping around your neck.

Nope, doesn't have that. How much are they?

agw_01, it's just the normal K, not VVC.

Is it worth doing any mods to it? What does the K respond to?

Ahh gotya. Shame it's not a VVC. They're pretty quick.

The K responds well to typical breathing mods... air filter, exhaust, de-cat especially. Sounds fantastic too with a decent filter on.

I think the 1.8 already has the 52mm throttle body, a popular upgrade for 1.4K owners.

I don't know if it's worth is, i think the basic non VVC 1.8 is about 120 BHp with the VVC being about 140. The air filter and cold air induction kit made a big difference on mine as did a new set of HT leads, it is more free through the revs and seems to have a bit more low down grunt but I never hat it on the rollers so it could be my head trying to justify the maxogen induction kit

From memory I think that would give you ~ 130 on the 1.8i or ~ 150 - 160 on the VVC. You can get more by switching the throttle bodies for bigger ones and dumping the cat but I don't think it suffers from a lack of power tbh.

The air deflectors are imho essential for winter top down motoring. Mike satur is the man to speak to for any MG F mods http://www.mikesatur.com/

oh turbo technics to a supercharger conversion as well ;)

you can get a recon VVC lump or head for peanuts if you can fit it yourself

I fancy doing a few basic mods but I doubt I'll be swapping engines or anything. If I want more power I'll just use the Elise :)

I think I'll just swap the HU and speakers and do a few small cosmetic mods, nothing major as it's only my runaround car.

I need to buy bread first before I can post pics otherwise the OCUK detectives will hunt me down.

I'm sure everyone's seen a white MGF before though :)

Just in case there's anyone that hasn't seen a white MGF before, here's some quick breadless pics that I just took with my phone.

yeah, it's actually a lot better than I thought. Much to my surprise I'm actually quite enjoying it, far better than I expected.

I might even wash it tomorrow :)

I like the F, I really do. My dad's got a VVC one in a deep red metallic colour, looks fantastic IMO.

The wind deflector is a must as well :)
