Temps Help.

After thinking vista was giving bad readings i have installed xp..

I don't know what to trust. I think its speedfan, Its usally the same as speedfan in the bios...

I am thinking this zalman 9500 is poop recomend me better? No my chips not concave i already checked...

maybe reseat ** cooler and get some atric sliver 5 thermal paste my cooling. is a sythi ninja rev b and 5 case fans i have the thermaltake kandalf with the side panel upgrade

Is it particularly warm in your room? While those temps are well below the max safe temp [60C] it is still quite warm given the cooler you are using.

I would suggest you get some AS5 and try reseating the cooler. Make sure you completely clean both the CPU and cooler before applying new thermal compound.

Coretemp is usually correct, at least on my system it is.

EDIT: What is your case cooling like? If your airflow is no good then all your cooler will be doing is blowing warm air through which isn't ideal.

I have an antec 900 the air is fine..

My room may be a bit warm.. Not that hot..

I will reseat it and if not i guess its new cooler time?

Try a reseat and if it isn't below 50C you might need a new cooler. The Zalmans are supposed to be pretty good, maybe you got a duff one lol

Hi Phil,

The temps in TAT are correct, I read 51°C/51°C which is about right. You have a similar e6300 to myself which runs a tad warm but nothing to worry about.

If you wanna see 'real' full load temps then click both the start buttons in TAT (highlighted in red).

The heatsink gOOp needs a few days to work well, make sure you switch the PC off at nights to help it set. Also does your graphics card exhaust the hot air out of the case rear?

you can have the best case in the world if you have wires blocking things ect u will be onto a looser

ahh so it doest look like i will be able to clock this then?

the grapics doest go out, But i am gonna buy an 8800 at the weekend..

Sure you will, a warm chip doesn't stop you overclocking but you may not get every last drop of MHz from it. Here is my e6300 overclocked, temps have gone up since I swapped out my graphics card for a passive version (big hot lump of metal sitting 1" from my CPu cooler.)

(L/R) TAT Idle/TAT Load - e6300 (450x7) 1.33vCore - 1.45vNB

Its got a little more MHz to go yet but I need to make some adjustments to the cooling. The system is pretty much silent atm but the combination of warmer weather, a passive GPU and a closed cased are pushing the load temps too high.

yeah but your chip is like 36c idle.. Mine shows as 40c in TAT.. Speedfan 22c

I just don't know...

And you wont know until you get overclocking, I can't imagine you will have any problem getting that chip to 2800MHz, probably higher!

Dont get to hung up about idle temps (unless exceptionally high) as it is the load temps that have more of an impact. Yo might find that when you start overclocking you will get quite a way without having to increase vcore and you might only see a small increase in temps over stock. Its when you really start to push things that temps may start to rise rapidly.
I had a scythe ninja on my e6300 before i went to watercooling and at 3ghz it would idle at 48 but only increase to 56 underload, it seemed the cooler worked better when pushed.
As advised above you are only going to know how your chip and cooling react to overclocking once you start.
Overclock in small steps and monitor your load temps over after each increase and see how you go.

ok thanks for that.. When at stock and i click 100% on TAT i left it for 3 hours and it never went over 51c thats at stock.. I may reseat the zalman i am sure its should be better than this..

new moniter grapics card another hd and another dvd drive when my rams cheaper will get another 2gb..

once its lapped and seated with the new cooler i plan to get 3.2GHZ thats my aim.. Not gonna run it max.. and i need to get that on 1.425 or less..

There my aims i know it can be done it was just the heat..

I also got a bag off cable ties and speakers mouse and NEON lights
