TEMPUR Mattress

I did a bit of research into this a few years ago. There were mattress group tests done (by Which?) and the Healthbeds Memory Flex came out top, so I bought one of those...

I've got a mattress that is 15cm of normal foam then 5cm of memory foam on top. Was about £200 for a single. It's fantastic. I don't find it overly hot in the summer, and yes it stank to high heaven for the first week or two. Well worth it though.

Plus, no squeaky squeaky ;) because there are no springs.

Buy a regular mattress and just add a memory foam topper? Can take it off in the summer then when it gets too hot.

Slept on one at uni a few times but the lass didn't have any sheets on it which might not have been helping.

Would deffers like to give the pillows a try though.

Finally bought an ErgoFlex Memory Foam Mattress

I finally bought an ErgoFlex Memory Foam Mattress at about a 50% discount and had it delivered a couple of weeks ago. It took a few days for the chemical smell to wear off but I got used to it very quickly.

Whilst feeling a wee bit strange at first, it is actually incredibly comfortable and I can confirm that I sleep better on it. I spent two nights last week in an hotel and really noticed that the bed was less comfortable than the ErgoFlex at home.

It is definitely warmer than the mattress it replaced and this may be an issue in the summer . . .

Overall, a good buy :)

Holy thread revival...

Just wondered how you felt about the ergoflex after 6 months? Too many fake reviews out there it's hard to tell what it's actually like...

Had ours since December. Fantastic still, love it and still feels like it did when new!

Best thing is no back ache, and I don't notice the missus rolling over

Get one!

?

Have you tried one of the newer models? With much better ventilation (2 chambers on the 25 and 27cm deluxe mattresses) they are now cooler than a typical sprung mattress.

Comfort is a personal thing but for those finding the classic mattresses too firm compared to what they are used to there is always the much softer deluxe.

Missus spent a fair few hundred quid on one a few months back and we are getting rid of it. It is far too hot to sleep on in the summer. As is envelops you, you just heat up. It also gives me a bad back and even makes my legs ache some nights. They claim it supports you, well humans are not designed to sleep in a cacoon.

Going back to a proper sprung mattress. Cannot wait.

Thanks for opinions ;). Anything has to be better than the futon... We're going to try a 'medium-firm' tempur to compare firmness and then possibly order. The only way we'll know how it works is to actually try it for a while.. We can always do DSR within 7 days if we hate it but it'll cost £60-100 to return it!

A year ago I went though s long-running saga that was me finding a mattress, and after ages of hunting high and low anhd laying on various testers I finally found what I was looking for at a fantastic German company called:

Ravensberger® Matratzen http://www.ravensberger-matratzen.de/

Basically they do a quality set of latex mattresses for the same or cheaper as a high-quality equivalent. I bought the 160cm "Naturlatex" mattress with all the trimmings as seen here http://ravensberger-matratzen.de/pro...e83d8220eb7a38 for EUR 645.73 ().

So anyway, comfiest thing i've ever slept on... like being on a cushion of air... with the benefit being Latex is cooler than foam, doesn't warp like springs, and is acknowledged as the best material for having nookie on. :D

I am still VERY impressed with it.

As it happens, I now realise that I have unknowingly slept on Tempur mattresses before - they do feel distinctly different to sleep on and even more obvious if you sit on the edge but it is not something that I have ever bothered to check. John Lewis is a good place to check out Tempur.

I would agree that Tempur and ErgoFlex mattresses are definitely warmer than conventional mattresses but I tend only to sleep under a sheet or a very thin duvet so it isn't really an issue for me.

What I would say is that ever since buying the ErgoFlex, I have slept much better and more soundly and I invariably feel better when I wake up in the morning - I would unhesitatingly buy again - especially with their occasional, massive discounts. However, "Your mileage may vary" ;)

Rest Assured make great affordable and supportive Mattress. I can highly recommend their orthopaedic range.

Picked up 1600 PS Orth for £170 delivered. Thanks end of chavy catalogue store catalogue sale.

I'd love one (slipped disc) but the heat makes it a complete non starter for me. I find it easier to sleep on an uncomfortable mattress in cold conditions than a comfy one in mildly warm conditions - I leave the windows opens to sleep in the middle of winter. God I hate summer for sleeping.
