edit: vvv Agreed, I can't make a top 10 list of anything when it comes to music, it'd probably probably change several times a day.

This is practically impossible. The only song I can think of that would definitely come in my top ten favourite rock songs of all time is Bob Dylan's Hurricane.

The one major memory of this song was when it had first come out and I was playing in a cabaret band. We were travelling to a gig and there used to be a rock show on BBC around 6pm on a saturday. All the band members were into stuff like CSNY, James Taylor, Eagles etc and metal wasn't part of their vocabulary though they had added me to rock them up a bit. 'ONE' came on and from the start there was a deadly silence in the van until the end of it when they all went 'wow, what was that?'. All four of them went out and bought And Justice For All.

Aye, this is downright impossible until we've at least managed to utterly establish what constitutes metal/rock. I'll be back in a few days, by which time I'm confident that you'll all have it nailed beyond question.
 
Top 10 is very difficult for me as there are so many tracks I don't know the names of but listen to them loads on Planet Rock, so here's a try:

I've not listened to the whole of ...and Justice for All for ages. Got a hire car at the moment and I just grabbed something from the shelf and happened to be Justice. I'd forgotten what a great album it is, the last 5 minutes or so of One just need the volume cranking up so high :)
