Maybe she has an unorthodox natural technique, in the snooker world look at how Judd Trump and Mark Selby play (Judd pulls cue towards his body around the time he hits the white, Selby sways left and right while feathering the shot before deciding when to become still and hit the white).

"This was just the way Raducanu wants to play: with freedom, aggression and strong defensive foundations when required."

If it works, it's not dumb. Let's hope for a bit of consistency, and to build on the potential she unquestionably has.

Theres plenty of sports people that have that but if you are not getting the results you want then something has to change and its not usually just to "be yourself".

This is just how the media works. When you're winning its because of X and you've turned a corner. When you lose, clearly its because of the problem you haven't actually addressed. Boom and bust.

She clearly a good tennis player but nowhere near being one of the best. I assume thats where she wants to be and to do that I assume she needs to improve certain areas of her game. Or, she can just "be herself" and float through a career and likely regret wasted potential.

She's not played anyone seeded yet, and typically does well at IW anyway. Let's see does against Anisimova. Which truth be told could go either way. Emma thrashed her last year in Miami after beating her earlier that season too. Amanda then turned a corner and got to the Wimbledon final (getting thrashed by Iga), then the US Open final which she also lost.

She was an absolute revelation when she first came on the scene, played incredibly well at Wimbledon, before the pressure of a nation got to her, and then went on to win the US Open with ease. You don't do that with luck, you do that with talent.

She looks to be over the worst of her injuries now but she's basically become a cake that's gone tragically wrong in the oven because too many bakers contributed to the recipe and created a confused mess.

Get a coach, stick with that coach and she'll do very well but either her, her dad or both of them seem intent on ruining what could've been an incredible and trophy laden career by jumping from coach to coach.

And people talk about Sinner and Rybakina as having the health of a victorian child. The IW men's and women's finals were on last weekend. I suppose talk should really be about those. Sabalenka getting a first win against Rybakina in a final for x years, and Medvedev's return to form rather than someone who rarely plays.

I fear it will be the Sinner show in the meantime, maybe Fils can give him a run for it
Not so sure. For the GS he needs to get through Madrid and Rome without injury for a good RG run then Wimbledon. He dropped a set yesterday against a lower level player. Yeah you'd expect him to win normally, but an exceptional performance from Medvedev, Djokovic, or something a bit different from Zverev, could see him lose.

Djokovic maybe, Medvedev you never know, he played really well to beat Alcaraz but you gotta wonder how long a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing will stick in his head.

I can't see Zverev ever beating Sinner again. 8 consecutive losses to Sinner since 2023, I think his heads gone.

I'm leading more towards agree with moppy. Can't see Medv causing him any trouble at either of the up coming slams, US is a different story though. Got to feel that this is Novax best opportunity to win that elusive 25th

Crazy news, of course many players are playing through various injuries and they are often not visible to us. It was probably a right decision not to do more damage, even though the big rivarly is on hold for a while now. Do you guys know any good tennis stats API sites where I can crunch some data from to do my own analysis of the last few months. Want to get to the bottom of something and I believe need more in-depth data rather than just 1st serve % win haha

So this is cropping up again. I mean they upgrade the facilities, buy more ground (in wim case buying the golf course), add roofs etc these things cost massive amounts of money.

If if it all goes on players, the product over all could drop.

It's not about it all going on players it's about a fairer share, and more to the lower ranks or this case, those going out in earlier rounds. The GS all make massive profits. Players outside of the top 100 will nearly all make a substantial loss.

Doubles and wheelchairs should get considerably more than they do now. Singles get far more. Maybe the top-end singles pay needs to be capped, with doubles/wheelchairs/lower-ranked singles getting proportionaly more than they do now, compared to the high-ranked singles. Unfortunately the only players who can move the needle in regards to pay are the high-ranked singles...
