Maybe she has an unorthodox natural technique, in the snooker world look at how Judd Trump and Mark Selby play (Judd pulls cue towards his body around the time he hits the white, Selby sways left and right while feathering the shot before deciding when to become still and hit the white).

"This was just the way Raducanu wants to play: with freedom, aggression and strong defensive foundations when required."

If it works, it's not dumb. Let's hope for a bit of consistency, and to build on the potential she unquestionably has.

Theres plenty of sports people that have that but if you are not getting the results you want then something has to change and its not usually just to "be yourself".

This is just how the media works. When you're winning its because of X and you've turned a corner. When you lose, clearly its because of the problem you haven't actually addressed. Boom and bust.

She clearly a good tennis player but nowhere near being one of the best. I assume thats where she wants to be and to do that I assume she needs to improve certain areas of her game. Or, she can just "be herself" and float through a career and likely regret wasted potential.

She's not played anyone seeded yet, and typically does well at IW anyway. Let's see does against Anisimova. Which truth be told could go either way. Emma thrashed her last year in Miami after beating her earlier that season too. Amanda then turned a corner and got to the Wimbledon final (getting thrashed by Iga), then the US Open final which she also lost.

She was an absolute revelation when she first came on the scene, played incredibly well at Wimbledon, before the pressure of a nation got to her, and then went on to win the US Open with ease. You don't do that with luck, you do that with talent.

She looks to be over the worst of her injuries now but she's basically become a cake that's gone tragically wrong in the oven because too many bakers contributed to the recipe and created a confused mess.

Get a coach, stick with that coach and she'll do very well but either her, her dad or both of them seem intent on ruining what could've been an incredible and trophy laden career by jumping from coach to coach.

And people talk about Sinner and Rybakina as having the health of a victorian child. The IW men's and women's finals were on last weekend. I suppose talk should really be about those. Sabalenka getting a first win against Rybakina in a final for x years, and Medvedev's return to form rather than someone who rarely plays.
