Tennis

Gutted for Murray but he just pushed a guy that's ranked 5th and 12 years his junior all the way.

I think he'll be lucky to make the second week of a major again but as long as he's enjoying it there's no reason to stop yet.

Tsitsipas played better than many expected really based on his history (on grass). Especially bearing in mind his run to Wimbledon and the fact that Murray beat him last year on grass. Murray's first serve was poor. Without the curfew, you can't help but feel Murray might just have clinched it, but never mind.

Yeah, Djokovic will win this match. Probably have a shaky start as he often does and then find his momentum and stomp all over his opponent. I'm looking forward to a Djokovic v Alcaraz final.

Djokovic v Wawrinka. Would love the swiss to win but cant see it happening.

He even said himself he's got no chance. Just hope he give Djokovic a good match. Still remember that RG match between Warinka and Andy that effectively destroyed them both.

Hey, when is Novac on? Should be a good watch I hear?
Really enjoyed the Andy game, the lads a trooper and hope he keeps going.

About 15 mins. When Iga finishes off Martic.

Id love it if he knocked Djokovic out. Always loved his one handed backhand just cant see it happening.

I thought it was pathetic by the BBC bigging up Boulter's chances the day before the match, then the commentary before she came on court. She was never in with a chance. Despite the lack of play due to recovering from her illness, Rybakina still looked good against Shelby, and Cornet, both infinitely better players than Boulter. BBC was doing both players a disservice.

Match of the day yesterday for me was Zverev vs. Berettini. Great to see Berettini (2021 finalist) playing so well after the issues he's had recently. Despite winning in straight sets, it was an exceptionally close game. Both players' serve was on point.

Berettini is a better grass court player than Alcaraz who he'll face next. If he's on form it could be an interesting match. I fear lack of match fitness could cost him though if it goes to 5 sets. That being said, it's not like Alcaraz has mastered bo5.

In the meantime, 16 year old Mira Andreeva is thrashing fellow Russian and 20th seed Potapova, and continuing her trend of destroying seeded players at tournaments.

Will face keys in the next round (if she gets through), and if she gets past that, a re-match with Sabalenka which could be interesting.

This Andreeva kid doesn't stop running. She's literally getting to every ball Potapova is playing.

The stat showed 12% more running than Potapova in the first set. The was set she won 6-2. She won't get away with that though against top 10 players, as we saw against Gauff. Brilliant talent, and her first time ever playing on grass was qualifying for Wimbledon.

Are there any men playing today?

Seems to be just women on BBC1 and 2 at the moment.

rubble and Bublik on now. Bublik seems to be taking his tennis seriously these past few weeks. He's actually a reasonably dangerous grass player.

Djokovic plays after the Swaitek vs. Bencic match (which should be an interesting one).

I need to start waking up for the Novak match!
