Tenth Dimension

It might have been me who posted this quite a long time ago. I'm not sure...

But yeah it really is a great little lesson, and pretty fascinating too.:)

Not bad. My Physics teacher at A-Level discussed it in exactly the same way which goes to show just how little it covers though.

I've just finished reading a book called "Hyperspace" which covers 10 dimensions and string theory among other things and goes into quite a lot more depth which made very interesting reading.

It's a shame we are such a long long way off from having the energy available to test these theories.

I'm going to worry about the 3rd dimension until a time when the 4th comes into play for me!

I watched upto 3 dimnensions and its really REALLY borinf. Ive bookmarked the clip under things to fall asleep to. I find it all very interesting, but just not in the way that clip attempts to explain it.

Reeeeally interesting! i watched it through a second time to fully comprehend what it was trying to get across.

Is this part of string theory?

That looks/sounds incredable lol. Was great to watch, managed to get my head around it when they put it all together towards the end.

Dimensions are just a tool scientists use to understand the universe, who's to say they actually exist.
I don't think it's really relevant whether they 'exist'. We perceive the universe in dimensions, so that's what matters. Any theory that makes use of such a concept is simply doing so because that's how we choose to express it.

Well they do exist in a way, it's just a perception. Scientists give things names, and then use them as a reference or starting point for theories and experimentation. Just like we give a period between now and later on the name 'time' so we can accurately describe what we want to do, as well as a point of reference. If you ken me.
