You should try Natural Selection 2
I'll take a look, thanks for the suggestion!
You should try Natural Selection 2
The rest of the game, which leads directly into the beginning of the first Terminator movie, is so generic that it has dissolved in my memory like a Skip on my tongue. This game, clearly hamstrung by a budget the makers of Call of Duty would spend on a single explosion, reminds me of the mediocre shooters of the last generation of consoles, the Legendary: The Boxes and Turning Point: Fall of Libertys of this world. Movement is a turgid chore. The sprint feels like it's on a second delay, and there's no mantling. Shooting feels like ******* in the wind. The visuals are so dated they may in fact have come from 29th August 1997. And the Terminators... oh god, what have you done to the Terminators? These killing machines should be a terrifying AI. One alone should be enough to send a pack of resistance fighting running for their lives. The Terminators in this game walk slowly forward, shooting in your direction, and then fall down when you've painted them in enough red and purple plasma. These things are the brainchild of Skynet, an A.I. so advanced it came to the conclusion that it should nuke its creators into oblivion. They're supposed to be super smart, and yet on the battlefield they cannot flank.
Such a absolute and catastrophic shame, this universe deserves a terrifying and immersing game. I always imagined dayz but with ai roaming the land, having to buddy up with the other players on the server to construct hideouts, find and train dogs, repair old pickups with plate armour and gun on back then prepare and go out and rescue others until you have enough people to attack skynet hq.Eurogamer gave it an 'Avoid' rating

As expected really
Sounds about right. At least it is a lot better than their Rambo game, so they are heading in the right direction.A bit of a review but I'll post it in a spoiler just in case:
I've ploughed several hours into this game so far so feel I can make a judgement on it.
I am playing on the recommended hardness setting, one above easy with 2 more settings above it. I've been playing these sorts of games for a couple of decades. To start with, there's more risk due to normal weapons not damaging the terminators (although you can blow up a spider tank with them) however, once you get your first plasma weapons and mods the difficulty goes out of the game. I'd really recommend people ramping it up a level at least. In fact, I can one-shot T800's and 90% of the variations now.
Music and sounds effects, really fitting to the game, used for suspense and it works well.
The story, a slight twist on the original Terminator film, and you do develop relationships with NPC's in the game, with the chance of a couple of naked sessions with 2 female NPC's. You can guess the twists as you go along but it's not bad.
Locking picking is used heavily in the game if you want to explore and scavenge, it's your standard rotate and turn from other games and even hard locks are overly difficult.
Hacking, if you can play Frogger you can hack. It's kind of laughable and is definitely the worst part of the game.
It's a little rinse and repeat with side missions, fetching this for an NPC or clearing out a SkyNet outpost.
Graphics are really where it's lacking finesse in my eyes. As I said before it reminds me of games made 10 years ago. It's playable and they aren't bad, but some aspects are pretty basic. I know it's not a AAA game but some parts like fire are a little flat.
Overall, I find myself wanting to finish it. It has massive potential for remakes and really expanding the Terminator universe. It could be a lot darker, harder, more stealthy and honestly, brutal like the Terminators should be.
I wouldn't say it's worth the price at new, but in a few months if the price drops a little it is worth a punt. I would recommend it though as a cheap time pass game.
probably a 6.5/10 game.
I've not read the steam reviews but I don't think the game really deserves top reviews, nor does it deserve being slated at home. It screams new/small inexperienced studio doing a themed FPS.
