Terminator: Resistance

Note, I've left object motion blur on and set depth of field to its max setting (I like it). I also use film grain as it gives the game a suitably gritty look but you can just toggle that off within the game.

Everything else is objectively better than default though.

Oh and change r.Streaming.PoolSize to half your GPU's VRAM.

Big difference, thank you.

Just completed it, not going to win goty but what a fantastic terminator experience.

Nailed the atmosphere and apocalyptic world.

The last hour of the game there, terminator feels in every way possible with the purple plasma lasers flying all over the map and hks flying above, tanks etc.

A lot of nice little touches too and don't want to give any spoilers but let's just say it isn't a happy ending, very much like t1 in terms of you having to be extremely lucky to survive.

Might have to replay again to make different choices.

Just need to make a MP mode for this now.

Funny thing is, reviewers are giving this game a 4 and the star wars game a 9 and I got bored to death with the star wars game. The only thing I enjoyed about the star wars game was the cut scenes. I enjoyed this game a lot more and completed.

Got this with an extra 2% discount which brought it down to £22.53, which is very reasonable.

Having played it for a couple of hours, I can say it nails the atmosphere perfectly. The soundtrack and sound effects are excellent. The facial animation and voice acting aren't going to win any awards, but they're acceptable and there's some very good background story in there.

Graphically I don't think it's bad. Again, it's not going to win awards, but it does a very good representation of the future war environment, and the terminators are genuinely scary.

I've held off getting the SW game even though I love SW. The gameplay just looks so cookie cutter. I need more out of my games than just pretty graphics; there's got to be immersion too.

Yeah this is very enjoyable, the steam price is just silly though. It is what it is and imo that is a £20 game. Looks ok with the config settings posted as well.

Agreed. £20 would be a fair price for it.

Yea. Sad EA never seem to get things right. Even more sad is a lot of people seem to have enjoyed this as you put it "cookie cutter" gameplay and EA will take the praise and make even more of the same :(

OK, so I've just finished this.

If you're a terminator fan, especially T1 and T2, then this is easily a solid 8/10 and the most fun I've had in a terminator game since skynet and future shock. If your not as invested in the franchise then this is probably a 6/10.

The graphics aren't up to modern AAA standards but do an effective job of capturing the atmosphere of the future war scenes in T1+T2 well, especially at night.

The voice acting is mediocre at best, but the game soundtrack is fantastic and easily the best aspect of the game.

I payed £35 for it on steam on release day and don't regret it, but for many players I can see why this may seem a bit steep, if you can get it for £20 I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Not game of the year material but I enjoyed it, better than Dark Fate anyway.

I've just finished this too. Took about 11 hours and I tried to find all the side content and complete all the objectives.

Overall I've enjoyed this far more than many recent games. I've not enjoyed a FPS this much since Titanfall 2.

I'd definitely recommend this to any terminator fans. It seems like the Terminator 3 film we should have had.

I completed this game last night and honestly I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Yes it's a low budget production but it just charmed me with its fantastic sound effects, music and atmosphere. It is better than any of the movies that came after T2 IMO.

The graphics are admittedly dated and lip sync and voice acting are not great but I was still immersed in the game and you can tell the developers are terminator fans.

I would recommend playing on harder difficulty as it is not a particularly challenging game.

I would give it a 8/10.
