Synopsis:
In the year 2149 the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped, overcrowded and overpolluted. With the majority of plant and animal life extinct, devotion to science has brought mankind to the brink of destruction, but has also provided its only hope for salvation. Knowing there is no way to reverse the damage to the planet, a coalition of scientists has managed to open up a fracture in the space-time continuum, creating a portal to prehistoric Earth. This doorway leads to an amazing world, one that allows for a last-ditch effort to save the human race...possibly changing the future by correcting the mistakes of the past. The series centers on the Shannon family as they join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to TERRA NOVA, the first colony of humans in this second chance for civilization.

JIM SHANNON, a devoted father with a checkered past, guides his family through this new land of limitless beauty, mystery and terror. Jim's wife, ELISABETH SHANNON, is a trauma surgeon chosen through a global lottery as a new addition to Terra Nova's medical team. JOSH SHANNON is their son, mourning the girl he left behind, as he's torn between two role models--his father and the charismatic COMMANDER FRANK TAYLOR, the leader of the settlement, and the heroic first pioneer through the time portal. MADDY SHANNON, Jim and Elizabeth's teen daughter, is as independent and adventurous as her parents, but her distrust of authority soon leads her on a dangerous path.

Sounds good, shame we have to wait until next year.

Nice idea but if they did go back in time to change the past they wouldn't exist in the future to go back into the past and change the past in essence a paradox that could either confuse the hell out of everyone or cause irreperable and exteremly disaterous effects on the space time continuum. Unless they've proven it's possible to go back and meddle with time. God damn Temporal Mechanics!

Update, teaser trailer! (wow it's been a year exactly?)

Charlie Jade Alpha Verse, wait Stargate, no Jurassic Park, Outcasts! wait!.. Aliens.
Looks like it could be fun :D

Been keeping an eye on this... Hoping it's quite good.

Although massive budget + FOX's track record for cancelling shows = not good chances of it lasting.

Well would you look at that! It's Jurassic Park The Series...with some teen angst and drammaaa mixed in.

Cynical hat aside (Come on, it's Fox) i think it could be quite good.

Actually looking forward to this.

Edit: I thought i recognised the leader/commander of the settlement..it's Avatar The Series... :p

It will probably turn out to be some form of self fulfilling prophecy, with it being that the human race were always meant to go back in time to 85 million years in the past or some such. Thats how the human race originated or something.. Well that's my educated sci fi guess.

Of course the drama will be the main focus, and not the sci fi. It better be good, apparently the pilot for LOST (mildy successful show, with fancy jungle environments) cost upto $14 million, this is $16 million:eek:

looks ok from that trailer, don't like the fact it's from fox, they seem to cancel more stuff than they leave running....

The time travel issue - you've got the self fulfilling prophecy as mentioned but you've also got alternate reality theory where the original and the new reality exist together but seperate but as said you've got to love temporal mechanics lol

Oh dear god, no more dinosaur crap - so so so 90s.....

Not excited sorry.

Want spaceships and Lazors not Jurrasic park

I was moderately interested until it looked like they were getting attacked by aliens, then my interest dropped by about half, then they started getting attacked by bad CGI dinos and it bottomed out completely.

Looking at the trailer I wish it stayed set in the future about a failing world with a dystopian feel to it. The whole going back in time sounds boring and looks like a bad concept.

I guess you've got to give things a chance, it can't be as bad as Falling Skies.......can it?

Spielberg was involved in Falling Skies.

You know what? That had kids in it too, and you know what it sucks!!!

Maybe Tera Nova will be an exception...
