I didn't suggest it, and I don't think the tactic would be of value. My comment was more for the benefit of the apologists who often seem to only ever blame their own culture for terrorism...

No, it will show that we take a tough stance on the situation rather than being "soft" as we are seen now. We can't do anything like they probably do at camp x ray incase it infringes on thier human rights. :rolleyes:

Anything done will be used as fuel for the next generation to "take revenge" on the western countries - whether it is imprisoning them in a 5-star hotel or camp x-ray.

There's no negotiating with extremists, because they believe their way is the only way.

So yes, stick them in camp x-ray or even better off the plane without a parachute after it is proven without doubt that they were involved.

When the IRA was bombing things, you would think it right to ban all Irish people from Hotels, shops, nightclubs, pubs (as these were all examples of places that got bombed).

I have a slight indian look, not Muslim, no relatives that are Muslims (or friends) and don't have a Muslim name at all, but it sounds "a bit foreign" and i pretty much don't like religion at all, but still under your "proposal" i could still be classed as a high risk passenger.

Banning people that appear "indian". Wtf has india got to do with this?! Not only are you offending Muslims with this statement, you are also offending anyone who has an slightly asian look.

With that kind of attitude, you are one of the problems of Britain.

Whether I think this or not is irrelevent, I do not believe it is appropriate to adjust attitudes and behaviour in response to the threat of violence... nor that violence is a legitimate recourse for disatistfaction, so cannot immediately link the idea of discontent amongst Islamic Nationalists to adopting terrorism.

Also also believe that violence is as easily combatted with overwhelming resistence as it is with subserviance...

But the govt. would have us believe they are endemic and the news would have us believe that they are increasing in number.

Insisting that I'm project anything, or that I should desist in doing so, in light of the posts that you have made in this thread, smacks of hypocrisy.

I am not talking about banning an entire population from every location. Just a limited number of people from a specific location for a specific period of time

And in fact if there was such an occasion during the IRA troubles as a credible threat that irish nationals were threatening to bomb planes from british airports within the next 48 hours, then I would certainly have supported flying restrictions for holders of irish passports for a limited time....woudn't you? Would you really risk the lives of numerous innocent passengers simply to protect the rights of a few plane loads of disgruntled passengers from one particular country as opposed to disrupting the travel plans for tens of thousands of people worldwide

As for the "indian" statement it was quite obviously was referring to people from the sub-continent/non european (i.e that population from which, let's face it,muslim terrorists tend to be drawn based on historical evidence) , not India in particular, and I am surprised you could not draw the distinction yourself.

Banning people from an airport/flights is not the same as banning them from one place or the other like a club or hotel.
