Terror Plot Foiled

From Sky News

youngest is 17, oldest 34 yrs old. Martydom tape might have been found. Two of the suspects have english names and may well have been converts. Messes with the racial profiling some have suggested.

Only if any profiling is ever expected to be 100% accurate.
As I understand it profiling is a tool to narrow down the most likely and is not expected to be the be all and end all, hence its validity is hardly weakened if it is only 90% accurate.

If English footballl fans can be stopped traveling,
Thats funny I don't remember football fans being subject to travel orders but I do remember a bunch of hooligans being stopped. AHH the penny drops football hooligan ... BNP supporter ... jealous racist who can't stand to see honest non-white citizens being allowed to travel.
would be preferable if we got rid of most of them tho....ANY with a criminal record should disapear back to the stone age country they came from (even if they are 2nd/3rd generation...)
Cos all terrorists have criminal records? BTW just how many generations does it take to make a person British?

Couldn't agree more. The BNP are saying a lot of things people want to say.
From a practical perspective, how does one spot a muslim?

From the perspective of wanting say something on the subject, why not just say it? Why wait for the BNP?

From the perspective of, dare I say it, human rights - How do you justify denying the right to travel to millions.

Nobody ever suggests banning the British working class white male (BNP's words) from drinking, even though the damage and mayhem from an average weekend had a far greater aggregate effect than all the acts associated with terrorism of the the last decade, and, invariably, that's a predominantly BWCWM (my acronym) trait.

I think you'll find the equivalent measure would be to stop ALL football fans from travelling because a minority are hooligans.

Alternatively the equivalent would be to stop all suspected muslims terrorists from flying, but then that would rather let them know that they are being watched.

Still it is usually better to try and offer more than just disdain and criticism and to instead offer a possible solution to the situation.

Would you object to the use of profiling on aircraft passengers whereby you muslims pakistani men who attend certain mosques get extra special attention at customs as an alternative to stopping every single person?

I am not sure how possible itis going to be to keep the current levels of searching etc at airports as a permanent solution, so do you have any suggestions yourself?

Ask them, a lot of "British" Muslims don't give a **** that they are classed as British and would rather be classed as Pakistani or whatever...

there parents brought them here for a better life, but the younger generation have been brainwashed by mr hookhand into blowing themselfs up.... And how many Millions of them are here?

Maybe we cant kick them out, but we CERTAINLY shouldnt be letting ANY MORE IN AT ALL

Oh dear VIRII you do seem to be in a muddle. Sumanji is angry at the Muslims who are involved in terrorist activites because of the knock-on effect it has on him as a fellow brown-skinner. Methinks your vitriol is misdirected in this case....

I'm not so sure. After all he seems to think that the UK effectively deserves the attacks and that we have brought them onto ourselves.
His issue with that is that he might be inconvenienced as a result.

My issue with that is that if he is so truly in favour of such profiling he wouldn't feel the need to whine about it and would instead take it on the chin.

But he has issued the typical muslim "it's all because of israel" type rot.

And it's hardly necessary for the constant meddling of Britain and the USA in the affairs of foreign states (not just Islamic ones), is it? Why the hell do you think the extremist muslims took a sudden liking to attacking our nation. Do you think maybe that ever since the end of WW2 when we created Israel* we have constantly been screwing them over and making money off them?

Methinks "YES" is the answer to that one.

Sounds like a "we brought it on ourselves" type post to me. It therefore follows that he'll be equally understanding as to the effect this will have on the UK muslim population and he'll take it on the chin with a "we brought it on ourselves" attitude.

All hooligans have intent, not all muslims do. We need to stop our crusading in arab countries. Simple really. :)

Digging this up a bit, but ho hum...

As I think you're all aware, British authorities have arrested 21 individuals who are now in custody who are alleged to have engaged in a plot to detonate liquid explosives on board multiple commercial aircraft departing from the United Kingdom and bound for the United States. This plot appears to have been well planned and well advanced, with a significant number of operatives. The terrorists planned to carry the components of the bombs, including liquid explosive ingredients and detonating devices disguised as beverages, electronic devices, or other common objects.
Of course I understand these are still only allegations :)

of coarse, i ask 100s a day

no, i live in a area where Muslims want to be apart of British, not rundown crime ridden counsel estates full of Muslims.

WRONG.
The equivalent measure would be to stop all white people travelling because they might be hoolibans.

To be fair though, that's hardly a view held only by people inconvenienced by such measures, wasn't there an MI5/MP report or something which concluded that Britain's involvement in Iraq/Afghanistan had increased the risk of terrorist attacks on British soil, both by foreign and home-grown terrorists?

I think it's perfectly fair to say that aspects of our foreign policy may have brought this upon us and I think it's pretty hard to deny - you can argue that the terrorists are misguided in doing so and carry the majority of the blame but the idea that our policy creates a greater risk is undeniable I feel.

I find it both extremely infuriating and distressing that a small minority of bloody idiotic asians born and bred in THIS COUNTRY can ruin this damn good society that we have all built. What they're planning on doing is blatantly psychotic and murderous, and they now increase already existing racial tensions in our country. I find it so damn frustrating that because of morons like these, an increased stigma is now attached to me, just because I have the same colour skin.
Seems quite clear to me who he blames!

I agree... We (UK and US) should stop blindly supporting Israel and force Israel to widthdraw from Lebanon, Syria, and Palistine....

.....But thats never going to happen, so i expect to live under fear of Islamic terrorist attacks for the rest of my life.

We can all look forward to when they claim human rights and walk the streets uncharged.

In this country, unless they did actually blow everyone up with bombs; they're innocent.

As he can understand why our foreign policy might have somehow magically made british born muslims take these actions then doubtless he can understand why the actions of british born muslims like these will doubtless lead to actions against muslims in general.
It seems he can offer understanding of muslims taking action but he can't understand why some british non muslims might have issues with muslims, indded they would be "ignorant".

If he is going to take the line that we brought this upon ourselves then surely he must also take the line that muslims are bringing trouble to their own front doors here not by ignorant people but by people with a justifiable or at least understandable grievance. Or is it only muslims who can have a legitimate grievance for nasty actions?
