I get home to find the demo 30% done :(

Turns out me little bro thought that when the download monitor disappears (i.e. when theres been no activity and the controller switches off) that the download was done, so turned off the box :(
 
Well after playing the new demo for an hour I can honestly say I won't be buying this game now.

Car handling just feels wrong and clunky. The online side suffers from people smashing you off the road to get past you, just like PGR3, the reason I stopped playing that online. The animation of the wheels looks pathetic, even though the car models look nice. From what I've seen on the demo the whole place look bland and boring. So you can drive all around it, big deal.

To sum up. Nice idea, poor execution IMO.
 
Can't say the demo astounds me, it's not awful but it's not particularly good, the handling isn't sim like but it isn't really arcade like. I am fairly sure a ferrari can do subtle turns rather than whats ingame.

I may still get the game but not 100% sure now.

Anyway, couple of questions.

1) I dont seem to be seeing many people on line, is there something I have to do to join more people?

2) Do you 'rejoin' everytime you go in and out of the map/pause/anything else? The few times I have had other players on the map they have dissapeared when I have come out of the big map.

3) Again, on the big map if I go to players there are loads of icons for other people, but I'm not seeing them in the game.
 
There some bugs with the online sometimes the closest 7 to you show on map sometimes they dont.

Also the friend list is buggered it shows your friend driving on map but when you try to join them not there.

Bike handling takes a while to get used to cant just drive into corners like really fast. But my god the sound is lovely duck head behind fairing got a top speed of 199 mph out of it.

But anyway apart from that i had a lot of fun and challenged a few people but just been cruising around really.

Full game has tons more potential a lot of stuff we dont see in the demo so should be great. :)

The demo is good but does anyone not think the sound is a bit poor. The 430 sounds nearly identical to the gallardo from the previous demo and theirs just something weird about the noises when you goto the lambo garage and rev the cars.

Have you got your windows up or down.. The lambo sound in the showroom is probably different because its indoors...

This demo is better than I expected it to be.. I`ll be buying the full game for sure.
