Test Drive Unlimited Released Tomoz

Mav - Considering the complexity of the game, and to think you can drive around the entire island without any loading points, the amazing graphics, imo the game runs great.

I run the game at 25-30fps @ 1280x1024, 16xAF, 6xAA, HDR, high detail.

X2 4400+
2gb corsair xms
x1900xt 512 (oc to xtx)


EDIT: After a quick test, im actually getting 30-35fps, with some high points of 37/38fps :p

stalker - try setting the bike gears to the same keys as your car gears.

whoa an entire island to drive around? and your performance seems to be quite good considering your running it with 6xAA.

does the game have a dodge viper in it?
also i see people say there are driving aids in the game. are they on all the time or can they be turned off? stuff like traction control is crappy.
 
There is a dodge in the game, can't remeber which one right now. The driving aids can all be turned off which is good. The only problem i have with this game is a sound issue to do with my x-fi, really hope it gets patched soon as it's doing my head in!

Yep, they've got a Dodge Viper SRT-10 in the game

You can turn off the driving aids and I also upped the steering response and sensitivity to maximum otherwise it was raher slow to respond

Good game though!

BTW how will my pc handlethis at 1024x1280 with full aa af and hdr?

was playign it this morning for literally 10minutes with my8800gtx everything maxed. I would say that from the little part that i have played i was quite dissapointed with the graphics after the build up that this has had. Then again maybe it's just the start and im not into it yet ^^

hmm it's hard to say whether it will or not mate. With everything maxed with my 8800gtx (clocked to 630/2000 - 3dmark06 11.5k) with just the ingame settigns maxes @ 1600x1050 it ran fine. But if i went to windows and shoved some serious settigns on like 16Q AA and 16Q AF and then ran it i was having troubles ^^. Suppose it will be hard to say whether ull run it with al maxed or not at that res but good luck :)

Just got fined for $40,000 dollars for some reason. Don't know why - didn't have the police after me. It just came up and said that I'd been fined without a reason why! :confused:

How can you accept challenges from other people? Someone challenged me so I hit "Enter" but that didn't seem to work - it said "waiting for reply". I couldn't press the "Cancel" bit either. Does that mean that I've accepted it and I'm waiting for him or what? Not sure

Runs fine on my X1800XT at 1280 x 1024, 4xAA, 16xAF, HDR + high detail.

Already asked this question, but no one seemed to know. Is it hard to get new cars, money, etc? Will i have to put in a mmorpg-esque amount of time into the game to do well or can it be on and off and still make a favourable progression in the game?

I had an enzo on my first day.
 
Its really easy to make money in this game one mission early on in the game gets u 17000 quid for 20seconds driving, a lambo as above cost 170000 so 2 minutes driving for a car that can do most of the challenges. Use Google for some more money making hints xbox 360 version is the same as the pc version.

thanks to the above two :) will go check it out. Hopefully its a addictive and i can quit wow...need something free to take me away from it :P
