can i just say i take back my comment on it not looking ncie all maxed :) a bit mroe into it not and im starting to appreciate it :P ill follow on with some screenshots soon :)

There is something special about this game, this is what happened to me recently.

I played the open beta and was a bit uninspired with graphics to begin with, but after driving around for a while aimlessly (which is what I love doing in this game) something changed and my opinion changed on the graphics.

This also happened to me with the final retail DVD I got last week. On first firing it up I though "MEH!" , but after flying along the motorways at 200mph and cruisin' along the coastal roads I got the love for the game back, and with that an appreciation for how good the graphics actually are !

did you guys who downloaded it, buy it from the atari.com site?

its back up, but wondering what the extended download service is at $3.95

lol anyone know?

That usually means that you can download the game again within a certain time period, usually 6 months or a year in case you reformat your PC

Without it you can only download it within the next 24 or 48 hours for example

agreed 100% :P

the thing that i have started to appreciate about this game is that unlike most other dirving games, where they shove 99% of the graphical work onto the car/road and maybe a few things close to the roadside, here they have a huge map of hawaii all detailed even in the distance or off to the sides into the trees.

The game kinda reminds me of oblivion, only your horse is really fast ;) As in the graphics are great, even into the distance things look nice. I love being able to drive and contorl the camera view by holding mouse one down, you can get some REALLY nice images.

Screenshots soon :D

Indeed, i miss cars liek Honda NSX and Syline GT-R for the game, surley they are more of a ''supercar'' (or at least sportscar) than a golf or the alfa romeo.

R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II should be added to the game eventually, it was made as a downloadable addon for the Xbox 360 version IIRC. ;)

Oh, one other thing I've been wondering about. The extra content released, is it free or is there a charge? Probably a charge, but I hope there isn't :)

I hope it comes soon, its my faf car, i don't know if people will believe it but i prefer a skyline above a half a million ferrari (enzo) or a veyron (in reality).

Really like the Skyline just standard but i think my favourite for angular 80's retro has to be the Mazda RX7 MkII:

Classic ;)

You are kidding me right?

You pay full whack for a game, and you can only download it the once??

Does it give you the option to burn it?? At least with direct2drive you can download as many times as you like.

You can download it as many times as you like for 30 days I think. If you pay the extra it is available for a year.

You just get a rar package, which you can burn to dvd/do whatever with.

Richie.

I haven't looked at the site in much detail (I've bought it on DVD) but that's usually the case

I'd have thought that you could burn it to DVD though. In all honesty, I'd personally get it on DVD - there are places that are shipping it at the moment - and then at least you don't have any problems

I believe you, i have a bit of a thing for R34's too. Especially the very limited edition (:() Z-Tune a.k.a, GTR-Z...

http://www.carwalls.com/cars/14-Nissan wallpapers.html?t=356

Out of the license stuff in the manual....

Official Nissan Product. Nissan, Infiniti, NISMO, 350Z, Skyline GTR R34, G35
and associated symbols, emblems and designs are trademarks of Nissan Motor
Co., Ltd. and used under license to Atari, Inc.

So there might be an R34 sometime :)

Richie.
