^^ All of the storage space. The opening on the turbo boot is a fair bit smaller.

It looks even smaller on the turbo!

What's the storage space like behind the seats?

When I went down to Le Mans I had as much stuff squeezed in behind the seats as I did in the boot.

Same as the Elise from what I've been able to discern.

Something that's put me off the VX/Elise is the fact that the seats don't fold forward, so you can't put the hard-top behind them as you can in an MR2 / 355.

So what is the front full of? :o Im just trying to work out just how practical these cars are.
Radiators, battery and a can of tyre weld...

Strictly a toy car for me.

Radiator sits flat so takes up a lot of the front space. Got the battery and washer fluid behind it and that's about it.

It's a perfectly practical car for me on a day to day basis, I can fit 2 weeks food shopping or a weekend bag in the boot and when I went to Le Mans I fitted

4 man tent
2 sleeping bags
clothing for 2 for a week
First aid kit
Emergency triangle
General holiday gubbins
Roof

in the car and still had enough room left over for a large bottle of Vodka from the Duty Free on the way over.

it can't be as horrible as driving my brother 1972 VW camper (westie in BRG) with a 2L porch engine and the old gearbox in it, its EVIL (ala time bandits) on wheels.
feels like its gonna fall apart at about 10mph+

Del Lardo,

Thats impressive. By the sounds of it i could live with that and im sure the driving experience makes it a lot easier to do so. ;)

The boot is ok, it depends how you pack it really.

Like others have said, you can fit quite a bit....

8-10 carrier bags
King size Duvet, 4 pillows and some curtains
Enough clothes for 2 weeks, plus roof, plus wife's "essentials" (make up, shoes etc) and 12bottles of wine, 2bottle of champagne and a few beers on the way back :D

The space extends right over the wheel arches, so with a bit of patience and clever packing, you can fit it all in.

I've not had to pack it really full but you can get a couple of sports bags in the boot provinging that are not too full up.

the correct answer to the question about the size of the boot is "who cares?" :D

If you want a practical car to lug wardrobes around in then you're probably better off elsewhere, however if you want to take corners as speeds that break the laws of physics then the VX/Elise is definitely the car to get :)
