You should use correct English anyway, not only to to show everyone you can speak correctly, but it also ensures you keep up practise. Otherwise you will end up years down the line with poor spelling.

It also prevents you from looking like an uneducated ***

It not a hard rule no, but it is potentially something that can come under the broad principles approach to moderating the team has. Namely, 'don't be a total douche'.

If that was enforced as much as I'd like they'd be many more bans for general douchery.
