TF2 Awash with Hackers?

Ban voting is one of the worst things you can put on a server. Admins with ban powers are good (as long as they're responsible admins...e.g. not the Alpha clan server in UrT) but giving random players the power to do it quickly sees all the decent players banned by childish complainers.

Hi, please quote the whole of my posts and not just the parts you can argue against.

I can't follow your post, i'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "i dont believe you at all". In any case i'm not asking you to "believe" me, because i couldn't give to humps what you think. Go play on your private servers with your elite mates. If that was the case, i dont see why you're even in a thread about hacking on public servers, as you obviously never experience it on your private servers where everyone is a Pr0.

Edit: If really good players only play on private servers, according to your logic, they obviously wern't really good players, because it was a public server.

I'll quote the whole of your post if you actually read mine ;) i quoted the only relevant part of your post, i could post entire posts as i have above but im usually more considerate of forum users and dont repeat entire posts for no reason.

I dont believe your entire story, just seems way over the top and a general "omg i got killed by some guys on tf2".

Second, i said they dont often play, that doesnt mean they never play on public servers. More often than not its an actual match theyre playing in, i assume thats what you mean by 'elite mates on a private server' in which case i can assume you've never played a tf2 match? It does make me laugh when people try to have a dig by spelling pro 'pr0' like everyone who is good at a game only uses 1337 sp3llingz0rs, grow up

Last point, reiterating good players do sometimes play on public servers, theyre not as fun due to crits being on etc but it can be amusing for a quick bounce around slaughtering teams at a time.

How does one "find a good community to settle down in" ?

Theres a few out there that seem pretty respectable, just play a few games on clan's servers and see if there are many players from that team there. If they seem like reasonable people then play there a bit more often. Hampshire Heavies seemed ok when i was there a while back, regular admins although they have really annoying LOUD music at the start of each map.

it's a 2 hour ban in general not perma.

And it's hard enough trying to get enough people to ban a person constantly spinning moving at 500 times everyone else getting HS, so just banning a good player is unlikely especially as on a community server theres usually a bunch of people who'll know them on.

search through servers, find one with good players + usually admins on and a forum site in the name/in game check forum see if it's active etc.

Sign up get to know people get on s if you like the place stay.

fr4gz used to be great CS:s community haven't been on there in ages though.

go play in doomeys server always admins around and you will never see a hacker around well i never seen hacking in tf2 tbh

I was on one of the Killer Creation Public servers the other night that was doing Goldrush 24/7. Not sure if it was a hack, exploit or some kind of upgrade but I was getting flamed through the walls on a number of occasions.

As for good community servers then Evo used to be OK but I got an email saying they needed more money so not sure how long their servers are going to be around

The only hackers i've ever seen were a medic and a hw ubered permanently and could move around very quickly (faster than scout) without the leg animations working.

Not in my experience - though admittedly that isnt' with TF2. And in various games when I've been callvote banned for 'omg hacking because you got 5 more points than me' it's been a permanent ban. If that's not the case on the servers you play on, all good. Wish I'd had the same exp :)

Just to add, even though the music does change every other week, there's a clever little option on their website if you sign up that allows you to turn off the intro music if you go into your profile :)

Even though i might play there perhaps once a month that could be worth it, i have to actually mute my entire system sound due to the music so conversations on vent etc are cut off mid setence :(

Can you honestly not bare to listen to less than 30s of music once every 15-30mins?

Post #1, i'll highlight to help you out.

Anyone else noticed? i went on 4 regular servers just now and there were at least 3 in each one. And no, it wasn't just me sucking. i'm very aware of my skill level and it wasn't even due to me dying a lot. They were getting 10 - 15 kill streaks with baseball bats amidst huge amounts of chaos. Sure they died but nobody aims like that.

See the irony here?

If you dont believe what i'm saying, get out of the thread. I didn't create a thread to make up a story. Why would i even do that? What would be the point? Search youtube for TF2 Hacking and watch the videos. What i've described is perfectly feasable because it happens.

So thanks Anim, but go elsewhere for whatever you're looking for. Your complete arrogance and naivity to existence of hacks is laughable. They do exist, people do hack, and its easy to do.

All i wanted to know was if other people have experienced it. You obviously havent. All your posts can be summed in with "No". Everything else is pointless. As i said, i didnt create a thread, make up a load of "pretend scenarios" and then say "anyone else had this??".

People that are claiming they've seen snipers hacking, are you sure? I play sniper quite a lot and regularly get 80%+ headshots, and often I'll just have a good streak getting 5 headshots or more within a very short amount of time, not using hacks ;)

Yes I am sure. I play sniper a lot on dustbowl and 80% headshots or 5 headshots in a row are what happens all the time. I've been accused of hacking a fair bit too which annoys me. However I have definitely seen people using hacks. Very rarely but it has happened.

Oh i know they exist, ive witnessed them on a few occasions in tf2 and ive seen them used very effectively in other games (without getting caught until tiny details replayed at later dates) but i also know for a fact that people will cry cheat more often these days now that the cheats are a lot more public about how stuff works. Im sure what you happened was real in your eyes but i doubt it was 15 kills at a time :D all i said was that you're really exaggerating.

Kittens, i also snipe a lot and when playing seriously can pull off some quite spectacular shots but it can be obvious on occasions. The classic old 90 degree spin scope and hs in the speed only a program could do, that kinda stuff. Most of it can be decided just by travel time between targets for the xhair, instant is often a cheat but nearly instant is just a good player.

Most of the hacks ive seen so far snipers seem to use. Its amusing to see some guy getting over 200 kills and then you go into spec mode and watch as he locks onto people behind walls with perfect accuracey time and time again. I remember seeing a scout use this and he was pretty much running around with a pistol getting kills all over the show. Plenty of vids on youtube of this "framework" hack in action as well.

Go find a good community where they have a Ts/vent with an admins on. that + in game admins most of the time + vote ban and make a demo demo and post it on forum.

dunno if there are many places like that for tf2 as i don;t play it much, but as long as you're willing to find a good place an get on teamspeek there are loads on css.

You dont get my point Tefal. You're assuming that find a nice community and everything is fairies and rainbows and carebears... because the server admin knows all and bringeth down the hammer of justice on all cheating scum lol :D

Its sheer naivety to think that people who cheat are those who are not in clans, not part of the communities etc.

Ohh and their tell-tale behaviour is running around at 10x speed using a crude snap-on aimbot shouting obscenties whilst they do so. :D

Maybe that definition will sell to the average muppet who couldnt tell you what esp, wh, bone-aiming, defining vectors etc blah meant or if you mentioned running various config scripts to them? But it wont sell to anyone whos got half a brain and who's played the game for a decent amount of time.

Hackers aint outcasts - they are part of the community. Most people refuse to admit it though. Ive seen servers participate in this delusion. (not tf2)

There is no community that is free from cheats. You're living a delusional life if you think there is....seriously.

And you cant stop them no-one can.
