TF2 capped at 60fps

What are you talking about ?.

I DO NOT get Tearing PERIOD, always used CRT, no SYNC ON and since 2001 till now never got it, only seen on Web in photos (so know what it is).

If my CRT/GPU was showing Tearing I sure as damn would see it.

I have never ever seen so much dupe threads on Tearing until LCD became widly used.

I dont need you or anyone sle to tell me what I can or cant see with my own eyes m8. ;)

Damn your horse is so high!

just because you dont notice it doesnt mean its not there, pleb. thats like a colourblind man arguing you cant get green apples or something. or me shutting my eyes and telling you i have no feet, because i cannot see them.

You obv dont know what Tearing is, you WILL see it if its on your screen.

AGAIN (sigh) High End CRT with High HZ here, never had it.

P.S FPS aint linked to HZ in the way most peeps think, its not as simple as 60HZ=60FPS MAX, there is a lot more to it than that.

Well then why don't you prove the laws of physics wrong and tell us? By the way, with vysnc on, it is.

If your PC is half decent and can render frames faster than your refresh rate (lets say 100hz on CRT?), then you will get tearing. There's no discussion or argument to be had here. It is fact.

The fact is you dont know what your talking about.

I and others in this forum do not use V-Sync ON and DO NOT get Tearing.

You have no right to tell me I do.

If you go and read up on both HZ and Tearing you will see any good guide will tell you "you can get Tearing" not will get it.

And BTW, 3DMARK turns Sync off always has done, thats how you can get 400FPS in 2001 when your HZ is nowhere near that high.

Now get back on TOPIC and if you go away and actually learn something, feel free to make a thread on that topic.

LOL all this for V-Sync whats funny is how many times i've told people what it is and when they turn it on its like "wow every looks real and smooth"

V-Sync off = nOOb

V-Sync on = Pro

On CoD4 and CoD2 i play 125fps constant with my 75hz LCD...

I tried this vsync stuff and both games felt slower :/

I felt i wasn't seeing as much as i could and overall my score was pretty bad, on both games...

I don't physically see tearing on any games but when i put vsync on (75fps) my score goes down.

Quake engine - 125fps to move quicker, jump further and higher. 333fps has the same effect.

So um, for me its a load of tosh :)

Anyway, because my system is capable of rendering more than 60fps I just whack everything up so 16xFSAA and 16xAF to get as close to 60fps as possible but even then some minor tearing occurs - not bad at all but the game looks much nicer without jaggies at 1680x1050 :p

VSYNC is very smooth yeah but I don't like it as there is mouse movement lag with VSYNC being on in Source based games.
