TF2 hacking getting out of hand?

I kinda enjoy hackers. On Cod4 there was a blatant hacker, some of the Clan members speced him and recorded him to banned, good.
But while he was hacking, my sole mission was to kill him. :D
Was fairly funny as my score sucked barely plus, but when i did kill him a few time, i gloated so much. Taking the mick out him etc. He went off after that round and i felt that i had achieved something. Probably something lame but meh. :p

no valve don't accept demo pic etc for bans they only ban through vac.

That may be true but if you make it public on YouTube or something then they may pay attention. It seems a coincidence that they patched the getting under the map bug and the door-jamming bug shortly after that Team ROOMBA Griefing video.

2Fort Massacre in the server room.

I haven't played that game but I don't really understand cheating.

I can't see why anyone would enjoy that empty feeling of dominating games - knowing you only could because you cheated.

Shame is, the people who actually play the game right and spend a good bit of time on it (whatever it may be) get accused of cheating themselves if they're anywhere near half decent.

A lot of people get pleasure out of knowing that they are ruining everyone elses gaming experience.

Sad, but true.

I've not played many online games but the ones I've tried have been full of cheaters that make it impossible to enjoy.

The exception to this is TF2, I've been playing this for a few months now and don't believe I've played against anyone using hacks (well to the extent that it's obvious). Real shame if it does get swamped with these cheaters and as others have said what's the point?

I don't think TF2 lends itself to cheaters that much. Teamwork is rewarded more than most games so 'kill, kill, kill' is probably less satisfying for the scum hackers. Plus there's no ranks or unlocks etc.

I've once suspected someone, (only suspected) in the few weeks I've been playing.
Lot less than COD4 or BF2

you mean valve will take notice you posting a demo of a hacker, when they ignore the advertising videos of pay hacks?

Try steambans

www.steambans.com

You send properly submitted emos to them, they review the evidence and then may permanently ban them from any server running their plugins. Dont think it works for TF2, culd be wrong though.

steam bans is only on certain servers though.

I know, but its the best thing at the moment. Anything that cuts down the amount of hackers / cheaters is a bonus. We also run Detox plugins on our CS:S which makes wallhacks impossible. (Apparently)

I play quite a lot of TF2, since it came out in beta. Steam says over 25 hours in the last 2 weeks. Never seen one 'cheater'.
At least not an obvious one.

That's why I gave up online gaming after Quake 2. Cheats everywhere ruined it and it sapped the enjoyment. I only play single player now but might have a shot at Duke Forever online. You know, just for old time's sake.

I only ever play FPS on PC down our local Lan Center nowadays as I am too competitive and hacking just really gets me down :( If I am going to play online it is on the 360 sure it still happens but nowhere to the extent of PC gaming.

With a FPS it is sometimes not as easy to prove if someone is hacking and you may just think they are a really good player BUT my worst experience of hacking has to be in the MMORPG Vanguard SOH .

People using speed hacks, flying, vanishing/re-appearing, invulnerable to snares, duping items all totally obvious in your face hacks totally ruining your experience. Where can you go... you can't simply change server to a better one (unless you want PVE).

Played a lot of TF2 now. Apart from the terrain exploits the only hacking I have seen is the sniper aimbot and thats so damn obvious. Its a bot people pay for, why the heck you would want to pay for an aimbot I don't know.

Apparently valve did manage to ban it in this last patch but the bot code was changed and back in action the next day.
