Firstly as Skeeter pointed out there is a always a level playing field. Name me one unlockable weapon that is more powerful than the standard item.

As for n00b being confused, do you think a n00b would understand have the medics health gun works or how to set up a teleport or how to disguise as an enemy demo? At some point you're gonna have to RTFM![]()
Yeah, that's why a massive blue or red trail comes out of the medics gun and quite clearly shows that you're healing someone and that the class is called *MEDIC*. If you can't grasp that, then you shouldn't be breathing. But without checking on a message board, there's no way you'd know how to unlock the weapons and it doesn't mention how many you need for each weapon even if you did figure it out.
I didn't say it was a major problem anyway, just confusing for new players and Valve seemed commited from the start to make it friendly for new players.
