Steam says I have played for 9.7 hours in the last 2 weeks, which will all have been post-update and in that time I have got these as I had no unlocks pre-update:

EDIT: I'm wrong actually, I had the Natascha and a Backburner before update.

I've managed 6 unlocks in a little over 20 hours and 5 of those I already had... I'm not amused!!!

So thats's still 12 unlocks in 10 hours, compared to 1 in 10 hours for me, and a worse ratio for some others.

Im still yet to get a single unlock. I had all the pyro/heavy/medic ones previously, not had a single one since this update after a good few hours.

Just search for "idle" in the map. All dedicated ones will be full.

Played a few hours yesterday and like 6 hours today - got nothing so far. Seems like the worst system ever and it clearly hasn't achieved what valve wanted it to (i.e stop people playing the classes the update was focused on).

You don't even need to play the game to unlock items now, so you can just sit in an idle server (one that doesn't kick you for being idle) and unlock everything.

Also, on the engineer front, another idea might be something similar to the medigun only instead of healing it replenishes ammo. The drawback would be that it replaces the shotgun reducing the engineers offensive capabilities.
