Thailand develops HIV vaccine

An experimental HIV vaccine has cut the risk of infection by nearly a third in a major trial, researchers say.

The vaccine - a combination of two earlier experimental vaccines - was given to 16,000 people in a joint trial by the Thai government and US military.

It reduced by 31% the volunteers' risk of contracting HIV, the virus that leads to Aids.

My post wasn't about the 'modern world' (assuming you are refering to the occident by that)...

In Thailand (which was what my OP was about), most girls have very little knowledge of STD's, so your bandwagon comment is not relevent to this particular topic.

And I never said using condoms was a bad thing. But they are not 100%. If one of your loved ones contracts the disease through no fault of their own, I can guarantee you will do a complete U-turn with regards to your attitude to the disease. Why are you asking for a source anyway? Do you really find it difficult to believe that many Thai women (many of whom have little, if any, official form of education) do not understand the risks?
