My friend decided it would be good idea to prance about waving is portable dive around. Needless to say, he tripped, let the hdd go flying, and land with a very loud clunk.

hehe,

I told him that its a goner, but nooop, he wasn't having any of that.
Today he messages me telling me: 'It's doing a loud clicking sound'

'yup you have the click of death, say bye to all your lovely data!'

Once again the great hdd failure god demanded a sacrifice. :D

Agreed, but drive failure should be a none event, after all doesn't everyone have at least one back-up (I have a minimum of two back-ups onsite and offsite) of important files. We all know that all drives will die at some stage usually when least expected. :eek:
