That time of year....greasy roads

PE2's, just cold I guess

Only happens when I push it, progressively slides

Had something similar with my PS3's the other day close to freezing temp. Even after a 30 min drive they were definitely not as grippy as a few months ago.

This is only when pushing hard through some bends. Normal driving I have not noticed a difference.

Noticed it a few days back, abs would kick in and the roads didn't look greasy and the temperature wasn't cold although could be described as heavy. Thought it was just the 5 series playing up so tested it in my car park and all was well.

Will be more cautious as the 5 series carries it's weight well but once sliding it certainly feels like a 2 ton sledge! Lol

After close to 3 years owning my first car (MX5 MK2, no ABS, no TC) I just had, for the first time, the rear step out on me today.

Dual carriage means I had to do a 180 at a roundabout to drop off my girlfriend at the train station. Happened regardless of the roundabout actually as it was when I gently accelerated after straitening up. Actually happened twice as after I originally noticed what was happening I immediately stopped accelerating before trying again and the same thing happened. Third time was the charm though and pulled away fine.

Nothing obvious on the road but at around 8:30 could have easily been ice up here in Scotland.

First time I've ever felt the back end twitch on a real road.

Fun isn't it? :D

Yeah it is a bit slippy lately.
After pulling out of a junction / roundabout and planting the throttle the TC kicks in and the cab doesn't want to turn.

That tends to happen though when you unleash 500 hogs when there's 26 tonnes in the trailer. It's even worse when turning uphill !!

As I said in the tyres thread, changeable day to day. Today I drove it like an oaf and had no big leary slides.. Definitely think this years brine is extra slippery, not had any down for the past few days and now not skidding, coincidence?

My front wheels decided to take a break from steering on a mini roundabout in my state this morning. Completely took me off guard, as I didn't think it was icy at all. Maybe the rubber from the mediocre tyres wasn't up to it.

I had to dodge a confused female who swerved on the wrong side of the road in front of me, the car did a fantastic job of keeping control, ESP going mental. I would have been in a hedge in my fiesta.

ESP is amazing.
Out of interest, what tyres are you running?
