I don't think it covers maximuscle stuff, it does cover some whey protein but it was still stupidly expensive so didn't bother.
From what I've seen there's lots of vitamins/joint support stuff and some nuts in the promo.

most of that stuff can be bought from asda for cheaper most of the time, even including the sales. asda's own make especially. so its best to just pick it up from there when your out shopping, rather than going specifically to Holland and Barret.

Just got back into lifting weights, only doing in the garage got about 50kg but just building up before I join a gym, missed feeling the pump you get after lifting.

Do you people still buy Whey from Holland and Barrett, GNC etc? It's such a rip off! MyProtein.co.uk True Whey or just the Impact Whey Isolate...that's where its at .

No mate however I have been unfortunate enough to have tasted that awful crap. Years ago when I started lifting and didn't know any better :p

MP all the way.

Ah fair enough! My brother used to always have a huge tub of Protein 90 back in the day, and that was the first protein I tasted and it was goooood!

Then went straight onto MP products and never looked back.

Had a good workout today, got told by some random dude "You have bloody strong shoulders" lol not sure how to take random comments like that.

hehe!

I once got comments about my chest flys when I was doing 18kg dumb-bells on each arm. It's nice when you get comments like that.

I had a good albeit short workout.

Managed to get up to 9 pullups after so long only managing 7 and my second set was around 6 reps. I was quite pleased with that result. I also dumb-bell curled 18kg x10 reps (per arm) and went up to 20kg x4 per arm which was nice.

Aside from that, I did some dumb-bell shoulder presses - 8 reps @ 36kg. I was nackered by that point, so I stopped there.

I seem to have done allright with the week I've had off from the Gym. I'll go again tomorrow and do some Chest and Triceps work I think. I also now weigh 77kg so I seem to have gained an extra 2kg :)

Wow. Awesome cut (with help of course).

Coming upto Easter now, which means i won't be at uni and I should be able to sort some sort of solid and steady diet out.

Done a bit of reading in here and done this BMR thing :p

Height: 6.1
Weight: 140lbs (approx)
Age: 21
BMI of 19.13.

BMR 1753.65
If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
I play football 3 times a week.

SO 1753 x 1.375 = 2410

2410 calories to MAINTAIN my weight, correct? I get nowhere near that with my current diet.

Over the summer i was a nice 11 stone 9 lbs and then i went to live in greece and couldnt afford to eat !
Came back to England, straight back to uni, very inconsistent diet. Now I'm around 10stone lol :(

If you want to gain body weight, you need to consume more calories than you burn.

Haha, great. So around 2900 calories and probably 120g of protein? EXPENSIVE :D

What kind of diet should i be looking at? Note that I have a tub of vyomax protein (40g pro per serving) with whole milk (approx 45g?).

Current diet...
Coco pops with whole milk for breakfast..
Yoghurt or apple snack
Subway (:D) for lunch, normally meatball (500 calories per 6 inch approx)
Chippy or takeaway for tea
Snacks

Shockin' :(

Help :p

edit: I will be going to the gym as well as playing football.

When i was 11stone 9 i was benching around 80kg, i can barely do 45kg atm :o

edit 2:

Drink 6-8 glasses of distilled water a day
Why?
Eat frequent but small meals.
I've known this for years, but it's rather expensive
Eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables (green leafy vegetables are great)
Me Ma drilled this into me as a boy. Love me vedge.
Do not drink coffee, alcohol, soda pop,...
Don't drink coffee. I do drink alcohol (student :p) and rarely drink sodas.
Do not eat processed foods; white sugar, white flower,...
Subway?
Avoid red meat and animal fats.
I love steak :(
Reduce intake of dairy products.
I was told milk and dairy products are VERY important in gaining weight?
Do not smoke and avoid second hand smoke.
Yea, trying to quit for footy ^_^

Sorry for the long post :)

Odd how your tastes change isn't it. I've been on a cut for about 2.5 months now and lost an absolute ton of weight. It's my birthday weekend (14th March) so yesterday I was going round the shop buying supplies and I kept thinking about how to fit the booze and food into my calories then I had a moments epiphany and thought: normal, healthy people don't worry about what they eat all of the time. It's not setting up a realistic lifestyle if I spend my birthday days out worrying about my diet so why not just enjoy it?

So I gave myself a free weekend and I've had a couple of bags of crisps and half a galaxy bar and I've noticed that my taste for stuff like that has just gone completely, just doesn't appeal to me to eat now so I set them aside.

Thee big fat greasy burger I had last night, now that's another matter! meat and fat is where it's at! Today I have my mum's homecooked lasagna to look forward to and then anything else I fancy then it's back on with the healthy lifestyle tomorrow and I'm expecting a kick ass gym session tomorrow after all these calories!

Just incase anyone else experiences this madness...

Past few weeks my left eyebrow/eyelid has been twitching on and off throughout the day. It's quite a vibrant spasm and is just plain annoying. After googling, it could be lack of sleep, too much caffeine, stress, or the development of a neurological disorder...

I decided to try figure out what was doing it. After some trial and error of removing/adding supplements into my routine, and a bit more googling.. i found it was creatine! I appear to not be the only one, but can't find an explanation as to why creatine makes the left eyebrow/eyelid area spasm and twitch.

Weird one!

I get the odd muscle spasm/twitches every now and then. My left delt used to go for minutes at a time. Left glute was at it at work this week. Have had my right lat go for about half an hour. Can be a sign of lack of sleep/rest or just neurological pathways being built and fired by the body.

Body mass indexes are highly irrelevant for people that do weight training.
I'm 6ft2 and a bit under 16 stone and thus clasify as overweight, even though my abs are starting to become fairly visible.

I know people that are a bit taller, weight 3-4 stone less, do not lift weights and have a keg instead of a six pack :D; according to BMI they are have a normal weight.

Nothing wrong with red meat provided it's decent cuts and not heavily processed burgers. Most of the advice is ok, but recommending muffins, crackers and bagels while discrediting red meat is a bit sad.
