The servers were dead last time I checked, with Coronet, Theed, and the Dantooine Mining Outpost totally deserted on pretty much all servers (I played on four myself, including Chimaera and Bria which were two of the largest.) The game has been in its death throes for a year now. Most of the ones who remain simply recycle the same excuses from SOE over and over again about how the game is still fine and everyone likes it, and that the ones who say otherwise are just a vocal minority with an axe to grind.kdd said:In your opinion... SWG Has remained very popular since the controversial changes and many prefer the later game style. Just that those that complained seemed to be the most heard as is often the case.
My God that is a lot of stuff. I roleplay my current character as a minimalist, so I try to make-do with inventory only. I have to say though, not even my "impulsive horder" characters have that much junk.FosterK said:Cupboards and chests are for wimps.
(and yes, it does rape my framerate)

Three years, two complete revamps, two mass exodus's and countless server mass-protests (resulting in countless bans and player-freezing actions.) The track record speaks for itself, and it's undeniably an abysmal one. Wishing that SOE care and the game is okay won't make it true, no matter how hard you try, and I think the fact they removed so many good professions and basic gameplay functions against the defiant chants of the entire player base proves it.
But what do I know? I only played the game since the very beginning, and I don't give Sony Online Entertainment £8/month anymore, so I'm now just a "whiny vocal minority" according to those people who you claim love you and your game so much. I'm glad you enjoy the game, but I think I would personally enjoy a hole in the head more.

Take it from a veteran of the game: No it's not.kdd said:I've never played the game but it's common knowledge that the game is more popular since the upgrade...

If that's your only response, then I'll consider your concession accepted. The fact is that I have seen four particular servers (two of the busiest, Chimaera and Bria) since the game started, right up to the C.U. of April 2005, and in the aftermath of the N.G.E. of November 2005. You have not.kdd said:

I saw those four servers boom in population and develop very strong communities of like-minded players, when so many players would gather in certain places (Coronet, Theed, Mining Outpost in particular) that it wasn't unknown for the server to crash. I also saw those same places occupied by only one or two people toward what I consider "the end," and usually away from keyboard too.
