If you have damage on most realistic settings, the gears will/can get damaged depending on how you take off, and how long you fly before raising the gears. Same thing has happened to me, apart from i managed to completly seperate the gears from the plane, trying to emergency land in Holland

Yes it's the BF1942 modification called "Desert Combat" (as he said in the post).

It's Desert Combat on 1942, the game that inspired BF2 and the creators worked on BF2 aswell.

Just download Garrys mod and experiment-it's pretty straight forward
