It actually a reference to one of the sub logs of ww2 I remember reading, was amusing at the time and still is. Its actually quite amusing that Part of the propaganda war "The japanese were squinty eyed, so of course they were half blind and made bad pilots and couldnt handlt modern warplanes"
Indeed the most pleasant comments that the americans and brits to had of the japanese in those period were yellow and squinty. However there were others which I wont post as they are quite nasty, History lesson ended.
However since your a tad oversensitive Ill remove the references

The 1st, 3rd and 5th are the yanks being blown up,the rest is japs and 1 brit the king george. If you think thats bad look up some dr seuss cartoons of the era.

Yes it is silent hunter, the manual is terrible though, a bit like x3 but if you plod around for a while you eventually get the hang of it. Those bloody jap suicide bombers are way overpowered though, tend to kill you most of the time especially if your in the process of a dive. Surprisingly stable game though, no crashes, can be a bit of a pain constantly going back to base and rearming torpedoes and the AA guns are way underpowered and tend to run out quick, the deck guns are nice though. Career mode is superb, playing from 1941 in a range of subs to 1945. Staff promotions, exp, medals etc. The only critique I would give this is the manual to be honest. Even when the destroyer ships are dropping depth charges above your head its pretty to watch.

Strange though if your sinking allied ships, they dont retal.
Just had to see that immense yank carrier sink, the jap ones bigger I think but ive not encountered that yet and im still not certain if there is sub battles, ice seen some surfaced but Im still trying to get the damn sonar to work to see if you can battle.

You saw enemy subs or was it allied subs? Also did you play Silent Hunter 3 ? If you did would you say its much different from sh4? (apart from improved graphics) Does it still feel like a sim? I remember folk who would play sh3 on time x1 (ie realtime) real hardcore lol. Loved sh3

Also how is there many mods for sh4 ?

Sh4 is for the hardcore fans lol, its fun.. you can alter realism if you find it too difficult, eg surface for air, battery recharge, manual targeting, dud torps, fuel, length of time to repair etc etc
Ill post pics of in the sub, sonar room command deck etc etc, rosters later.Its a tad late atm.

Its like a way more advanced version of the hunt for the red october that was on the amiga. That was my last sub game, nothing to compare it too since then.

how about voice commands?

used to have i think it was called shoot? for sh3 and a config file that sorted this so i just needed to speak commands into the mic....fabulous

I hear in this version you now get orders from HQ, radio updates etc? Sounds good.

p.s. one of my favourite sub games is probably Red Storm Rising, great sub v sub battles

yes you get commands from hq, think you need to be surfaced to get some of them though

Anyone got AA AF working in overlord?

Not that my card can handle it anyway with everything maxed out @ 1280x1024

loverlord looks intresting , odd enough my GF saw this in game and said it looked good , so might get it for her. just a pain its not 2 player.

Pretty sure I have AF on, running it on High (Max) at 1440x900 with 4xAA.

Works great, has the odd dip below 30 FPS but can't complain really.
