Yes you definitely want a wheel, LFS is OK on Keyboard and Mouse but it doesn't really give you any feedback from the cars and its not very easy to be smooth with the accelerator and brake.

As for wheels anything from the Red Logitech FF wheel that OcUK sell and up should be fine, although if you want to get into it in a big way it might be better to get a MOMO or Driving Force Pro etc. I have the MOMO and its fantastic, very good feel and solid as a rock.
