4090 owners are you all still actively checking for signs of melting power connectors?

It's been a nearly a year a now since I last unplugged and checked mine. I probably should check it soon.

If you aren’t having issues definitely do not check it. You will run the risk of causing an issue with re-plugging. Unless you have a clamp to check voltages I wouldn’t bother. If you need to remove gpu for another reason then great idea to check anyway, but I wouldn’t force it. Just my 2c.

Nope.

I've removed my 4090 fe several times in the last couple of years (testing other GPU's) and not once have I questioned my ability to plug a cable in.

Definitely true that you need to be able to plug a cable in properly, but it doesn’t change the fact that Nvidia made the cable inherently dangerous and that it can fail for reasons outside users being able to plug it in correctly.

Haven't checked once on my Zotac, no reason to either as been using the Corsair cable all this time.

I'm using the beQuiet cable personally.

Things fail in all parts of life, and yes Nvidia could have put better protection in place by design and manufacture. Buildzoid has a good video on this.

Me personally, I'm not stressed or concerned in the slightest, I try to pay attention to everything I do in life, so yeah I'm pretty confident in my cable plugging ability :p :D

Im using the Nvidia adapter that came with FE. Im pretty sure it's plugged all the way in a year ago. But the recent hot weather developed this annoying urge to check lol.

Not really given it a thought, I’m too busy enjoying gaming. I’d rather leave worrying to the 600w 5090 boys.
