Anyone know if rainmeter consumes more resources than windows 7 gadgets? And is it any better?

One of the reasons I stopped using Rainmeter on my vista laptop is that just running a simple clock consumed a lotof CPU time. Maybe it's the same on 7?

I've used it for years on XP without issue though.

It's the standard vista sidebar. You can drag the gadgets wherever you want on the desktop. The dock on the bottom is Objectdock, it's free. And I already posted the link to the wallpaper!
