I know that I just wondered why he didn't just put his email without the at and dot but actually put it into @ and .

People usually do it to prevent spam. But in this case I don't think anyone here would do that for no reason lol.

Whats a crawler bot going to do with his email, they just relate to searches in google etc. no?

Crawlers / Harvesters such as Xterme Xtractor will scan pages for emails and I'm surprised they don't look for the (dot) and (at) things anyway.
