*** The All New Official OcUK Post Your GF/BF Thread ***

It wasn't you Ringo, the comment has been deleted, I only managed to see the offending post as I am email subscribed to the thread. ;-)

As they say, "Opinions are like *********, everyone has one and everyone thinks everybody elses stinks".
Sometimes it's better to just keep those thoughts as exactly that.. THOUGHTS..

Well forget being old then.. how about affecting your professional working life? Having body markings is not a professional look no matter how you look at it - unless you are the traditional 50 year old security guard who needs green tattoo'd arms to look hard.

If you could easily remove them then fine but I know a fair few people who in later life wished they never had bothered.

I've got multiple, large and easily visable tattoos on my forearms. My boss at a well respected UK Underwriter had no idea until I rolled up my sleeves at my leaving do. Turns out, i found out yesterday, my doctor for the last 27 years has got several. He's still my doctor, in his 50s, curing things and whatnot.

People who get tattoos aren't (usually :/) stupid. They understand permanent. It's the same with anything you buy/do/become/say. There's a time and a place for it, it's not always appropriate do/show/say them so you dont.

At what age do you think that people stop caring how they look?!?

Women in particular never stop worrying about their appearance. If anything they get worse.

In 20 years time those tattoos will look awful and she will hate them.

I think you're being a little unfair. You're incredibly sure about something you don't really understand. If you dont like tattoos, then fine, but it's impossibly arrogant to assure the world that they will all regret it.

And to answer your question (i think this is what you're getting at), at no point am I going to look back at my life and regret my tattoos. I wont care how they make me look, because they're a part of me and a part of my life. I dont regret the one i got 10 years ago, or the one i got last year. It's a bit like scars. Each one tells a story, or paints a picture of who I was at that moment.

Honestly, 100 years from now you'll be dead. 100 years from then, nobody will even remember your name. Who really cares that you're an inked up old duffer? I love my family ink or no ink, on show or hidden. Outside them, who really cares about judgement? If you think it's going to affect you, dont show them.

Aaaaanyways this has dragged on a bit. I dont even have a girlfriend to post to get it back on track.

Here's one of my ex instead.
