just finished watching `Kaze no Yojimbo`
recommend it to any one .i would have to say it is very heavily based on `fist full of dollars` the Clint Eastwood film
was a bit disappointed/confused by the end
but overall very enjoyable

My feelings exactly!

I really did enjoy the series but the end was quite an anti climax after such a promising build-up. From the AMV opening you expect much more of a relationship from the protagonist and….

Still it has a well deserved place in my collection :)

You mean its heavily based on the Kurosawa movie Yojimbo which was remade into Fist full of Dollars.

Thanks ANDARIAL :)

No anime for presents :( (GW stuff), although my You're Under Arrest and Cardcapter Sakura did finally ship (so my present to myself:p).

Has anyone seen Kite?* - remember the forum rules though when discussing it (as it was an 18 equivalent).
I watched it the other day and i'm trying to work out if Sawa got killed at the end, as it seems obvious someone entered the apartment, and it couldn't have been Ubiro. Also, were there more people involved in exploiting them than the two you saw, as there were definitely more killers, and it seems likely given the guy on the train..

Also, did anyone notice that DVDprofiler 3 is out, but by what appears to be an offshoot of the original company?
Unfortunately V3's trial version is very limited compared to the 2x versions :(
I guess I may finally end up buying a copy.

*I finally picked it up a while back to see what it was about (it's one of those titles you tend to hear about a bit and i was curious).

Ok well right at the end in his final fight with number 1...

Spoiler:
----
How is it that Afro is able to survive a spike through the head? The only thing I can think of is that it must have been through the top of his head but mainly his afro. That's really pushing the credibility of the show if it is what happened.

Also felt that the whole extra headbands in the last 5 mins was bad idea and not supported by ther resto f the story at all.

----

While we're on the topic what did you think of the series? I thought it was great but it suffered due to having too much happening in too little time. Probably my second favourait samurai anime next to Champloo though.

I suspect there isn't an option in the default setup (I haven't seen noticed it anywhere).

sorry about that, I normally have the spoiler tags in BBCode, but firefox 2.0 doesn't work with the version i used to use, and the new vbbcode xtra doesn't seem to allow custom codes.

Just finished watching Kanon 2006 remake and im not very happy about the end. The story jumps forward between eps 21-22 and 23-24 but iv'e read they run into money issues due to low viewing figures towards the end.

No doubt the two missing ep's will end up on the dvd.

my local otticars, sorry, waterstones has just expanded its anime/manga section (whole book case!), anyone got any reccomendations to get?
already got my eye on the ENTIRE judge dread books!

Well I'm getting Full Metal Panic as I'm a bit bored and it was available. Seems like it should be fun though it could be one of those I watch and then Shelf without actually finishing(Gantz for example). What do you guys make of it?

I never finished Full Metal Panic, it started off pretty good like Black Lagoon / Gantz etc then kinda got boring around eps 15.

Fumoffu & TSR was excellent.

oop?

FMP first seasons is a bit hit and miss, it's generally rather good (very good in places), but has a lull about midway.

I'm just about (next day or so) to watch Boogiepop and Others, I picked it up for under a fiver online :)
Then i've got She the Ultimate Weapon collection to watch (picked up for a tenner - misprice) :)
That is assuming i've got the energy to concentrate on the TV for a few hours at a time, we've been putting a wood floor in the workshop/garage:)

Watched Boogiepope and Others, and it was quite enjoyable, slightly easier to follow than the TV series and surprisingly for a live action adaptation not bad :)
I did think that many of the uniforms etc didn't quite look like they really fitted the people wearing them, although the setting did look very similar in places to the anime.

I'm probably going to watch Human Crossing (picked up for $12+ shipping at DVDPacific) or A.D. Police TV next, assuming my You're Under Arrest/Cardcapter Sakura package doesn't arrive in the morning.

My Hellsing Ultimate:Limited Edition Vol 1 turned up yesterday so I popped it in the DVD player.

I like it. :D

The animation is better than the TV series and the story is much closer to the manga (vol 1 covers manga vol 1). I've already got vol 2 on pre-order as this story is only going to get better.

No. 2 is much better and has the best part of the whole series in it.

Oh Azumanga Daioh is super fluffy cuteness that is well worth the watch.
