bought Steamboy from Fopp, story seems ok but its not all that, doesn't hold a candle to studio gibli stuff
the story is also very thin!

i watched ichi the killer last night, i didn't realise it was based around such a twisted story, only in japan

I then watched half the proper film before going to bed

i'm quite interested in buying the Lost Universe collection. Can any of you guys tell me if it's any good? i've seen a couple of episodes and it seems very similar to Outlaw Star although a bit cheesy

i own a copy of the show it's enjoyable certainly, if you've seen slayers then you know what type of show to expect. if you can get it for a reasonable price go for it.
The show does fluctuate between comedy and dark seriously undertones, at the later end of the show its much more dark seriously, and no comedy from memory. If you like space ships, comedy a spec of romance, with dark undertones yay for lost Universe.

i wouldn't really say Outlaw start and L.U. are similar, Outlaw star har a more fluid story and undertone, yes it has comedy but it doesn't really use that to move the show along, or at least not int he same way as L.U. does. Ultimatley both seem to have a similar ending though so...

If your after Star ships might i tempt you with "Star Ship Girl Yamamoto Yohko" - "Its the most fun you can have with 100 Yen!" ;)

Those are pretty good, I really like the Eva ones :)

For anyone who is interested apparently Risky Safety is going OOP, so Animenation are doing it for $15 + shipping for all 3 disks (works out at about $27 delivered to the U.K.).

Just watched Saikano, wow, what a show. Really intense in places and lots of emotional stuff going on. Definately one of the best anime I have watched, the OVA was just as good and filled in a bit of stuff too.

I've got that in my "to watch" list*, I caught the first disk before deciding I needed to watch it uninterrupted (so it's been delayed until I have the house to myself).

If anyone is interested DVDPacific have started shipping the Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya Vol 1 LE (I'm expecting a hefty RM fee in the next couple of weeks).

*Currently:
Vols 6-18 of Cardcapter Sakura (watching an hour a night)
Saikano 1-3 + OVA
Angel Links Complete collection (was going OOP I think and running out of stock)
Patlabor Original Files (as above)
Blue Sub 6
Chance Pop Sessions
Time Estranger
You're Under Arrest mini's and movie.
A.D. Police TV (was going OOP).
Risky Safety 1-3
About 40 disks (I think).

I've got mine on order from TRSI so hopefuly that will ship in a day or two then. It's one series where it will be worth it to buy the LE versions.

Aye, I'm a bit surprised that DVDP started shipping first :)

As for the LE's, for the price I would hope so ;)
The only other series i've bought that has cost as much would be the hack/sign (I bought all those LE's), and the GITS ones (which explains my collection of Tachikoma's)

YAY! My Tsubasa artobox turned up today. :D

Nice and solid, folds out like the Galaxy Railways box. A nice extra inside would have been nice, but the box is pretty enough so it will do me.

Never touched Eve, or at least that's what I keep telling the police :p

I watched the last disk of FMA last night and I liked the ending, although I am going to have to rewatch it from the start as it's been so long since I started buying it.
The movie is next in the player, hopefully tonight (i've had the R1 SE/LE sitting on the shelf for months).
