There's a distinct lack of guitar-dedicated threadery in these parts. I read dmpoole's "should-I-dump-my-beautiful-old-guitars-for-another-new-one" thread with great interest and had to restrain myself from hijacking it for my own purposes.
So here we go - a thread dedicated to anything guitar-orientated: New models, playing advice, gear advice - whatever you can think of.

A bit about me.
I'm 48 years old and have owned guitars since I was 16. I am still an absolute beginner - I have mild asberger's, enough to make learning anything new a real chore. If I sit down with a well tabbed piece (I don't read music, natch) I can knock out something reasonable after some hours practice. Next time I pick up the guitar I seem to have forgotten everything, so it's like starting afresh every time.
Sigh.
The answer is obviously practice, practice, practice and see if there's really any truth in that mythical muscle memory stuff
I own several guitars, all "cheap": A Tokai SG Custom copy (wanted to be Angus...), a lovely Squier Telecaster, an also-lovely Ar|a S-type, HSH with coil tap and licensed Floyd Rose DL trem (and what a pain in the butox those are!), a "no-name-but-still-nice" electro-acoustic cutaway, a rather awesome 12 string electro-acoustic (known brand but I forget) - plus a Squier P-bass, a mandolin and a banjo.

Currently trying to learn Hallowed be thy Name on the Tele. More suited to the Ar|a, but my son's "borrowed" that - damn kids and their natural talent
