Last i checked practically every country in the world eats potato's, and english is one of the more dominant languages on the planet. So please spare us your thinly disguised childish bs and come out and say it.

By the way it shows you typed that crap above out, couldn't even figure out how to paragraph it. Knuckles must still be chaffed.

now now children;) let's all play nicely. I was going to read the original post but as it appears to be a copy/paste job without any attention to grammar or paragraphs, I won't waste my time just yet;) after all even the most Polish of immigrant's could right that with Paragraph's.

Not copied and pasted. I wrote this out, albeit copying from 'The Cruel Sea'.

If you think you have read it before it is probably from one of my previous posts - I have posted it once or twice in the past when people have been posting about all things great and Irish.

On a similar note, can anyone name the two countries that voted against an EU (or whatever it was called back then) arms embargo on Argentina when they invaded the Falklands.
I'll give you a clue - one of them was France, the other speaks English and eats potatoes.

We don't eat just potatoes, we have potato bread too idiot :p

He also seems to forget all this was the south of ireland and doesn't include the north at all.

But he cant help it, hes a little small minded

There are three distinct paragraphs.

Also, your use of "potato's" (sic) serves to underline your nation's position at the bottom of the EU education tables.

On a similar note when did that happen. Like has been said get over it, its in the past. And its not like St Patricks day, now-a-days, is honestly anything to do with Irish. The most irish thing to do with paddies day is the fact people tend to drink more guiness.

The passage clearly refers to Ireland as a political entity rather than geographic. This suggests that the reference is to the country rather than the island.
As a serving member of the Royal Navy I am very well aware of the contribution made by people from Northern Ireland to the UK's military both past and present.

It seems to be with you, give you half an excuse to have a mumble and grumble about something or nothing and you will. What a depressing character trait!

Can you name the countries who were our enemies in World War 2?

Presumably you encourage people to dislike BMW because those nasty Germans were the ones that actually 'slit peoples throats'.

And anyone that likes anything American as well seeing as they profiteered from supplying us goods to fight the war eh?

You're bigoted anti-Irish agenda is pathetic and I'm glad to see everyone else has the common sense to give it the derision it deserves.

In general I have nothing against the countries who were openly hostile to us in any war. At least they had the balls to stand up to us and take a beating. Ireland hid behind the cloak of neutrality.

Had America not eventually entered the war (and crucially decided to send men to fight in Europe as well as the Pacific) then I would have an equally dim view of that nation.

Also, "you're" is not the correct word to use. I think "your" is correct.

Can you back this up with some evidence?

Good God, a grammar Nazi as well are we? As has been asked before, what exactly do you have against Ireland personally? In your answer, please give us some credit and try not to mask your bigotry with a historical grievance.
What has Ireland done to you in your lifetime to upset you? If you give a reasoned response, maybe relating to IRA activity in the UK as well as evidence linking them to the Irish Government then I will happily say you are right in your opinion. Otherwise you're no different to Ian Paisley.

Along with half the World then, what's your point?
Well I was trying to figure what his views on the world war had to do with st.patricks day, and in so doing was trying to make the point that st.patricks day like many other holidays is no longer about what it is supposed to be about. Plus americans seem to like pretending theyre irish.
