Also, "you're" is not the correct word to use. I think "your" is correct.

Coming from someone who cannot paragraph their post, that is priceless. :D

Thank you for your positive contribution to this debate. You trully represent all that is great about Britain.

Trully you bore me. How about starting a useful thread?

EDIT: Actually what would qualify as a positive contribution to this 'debate'? People agreeing with you?

What has Ireland done to you in your lifetime to upset you? If you give a reasoned response, maybe relating to IRA activity...

I have never really been all that bothered about IRA activity. Everybody knew they were never going to get anywhere, and they never did. Equally I never really had any time for any of the unionist groups.

Remainder of post removed because it is off the point I am trying to make.

Well I was trying to figure what his views on the world war had to do with st.patricks day, and in so doing was trying to make the point that st.patricks day like many other holidays is no longer about what it is supposed to be about. Plus americans seem to like pretending theyre irish.
As pointed out before it's not just Americans;).

What worries me more is the fact that we do not celebrate St. David's, St. George's and St. Andrew's Day.:(

And you do??

As for the claim about you moaning a lot, read back through your many posts from. No not all fo them are having a moan but a hell fo a lot seem to be heading down that route.

Ireland had every right to be neutral, while it was unforunate that they decided on that for the allies, they did nothing wrong, and didn't betray us as you keep saying. It was 60 years ago, get over it.

I do a lot of my best thinking while driving.

I'd like to clarify my point.

I do not hate the Irish. I have several Irish friends. My intention in starting this thread was to inform people about the other side of Irishness to the nice jolly side presented on St Patrick's day. In my opinion this other side is too easily forgotten.

If everyone is aware of what Ireland did in WW2 and did again in 1982 then they will be free to form their own opinions based on the facts.

Well I'm sorry you have formed the opinion that Ireland betrayed us. I disagree with it, I believe they had every right to remain neutral and aside from that I know that many Irish people did help with the war effort regardless and I think that speaks volumes about them considering the atrocities the British inflicted upon them previously.

I've only skim-read this, mostly to bypass all the flaming.

As teaboy5 stated, we all have our skeletons in the closet, and the English are no saints. Quite the opposite in fact.

Pick any nation in the world and I have no doubt you'll find more than a few bad things in their past, done to their own citizens, or to others, or most likely to both.

Dwelling on the past serves little purpose other than to show us how we should not behave in future.

There are three distinct paragraphs.

Also, your use of "potato's" (sic) serves to underline your nation's position at the bottom of the EU education tables.

Three distinct paragraphs, once more you're talking out of your arse, knuckles. As for the last part of your retarded ramblings, just goes to prove my point, knuckles.

I don't even drink :) I just have to laugh at people that are stuck in the past like this caveman. And i doubt facts would be considered personal attacks either, he tried a thread practically exactly like this before a while back and it met the same fate, people telling him to get his hands off the ground and move on.

There are 3 distinct paragraphs, just because there is no

space doesn't mean they aren't there.

(Although I do admit it is quite difficult to read.)

I dont consider a massive clump of text of the deluded ramblings of someone stuck in 1942 to have much point to it anyway. Im not the only one to complain about his prehistoric posting style either.

<shakes head>

Big_white_dog84 why did you come out with that? We don't need a post like that to know that St patrick's Day is just used as an excuse for Guinness to sell more drink.

Sure there have been problems in the past with Ireland's neutrality and the UK's treatment of Irish nationals but why the ****** hell do people like you have to perpetuate it? These things are in the past and they must remain there. Let us all get on with our lives and teach our children to be tolerant rather than telling them what went on over 60 years ago. As long as there are people stuck in the past, and people like you wanting to hang on to the past, the problems of sectarianism will persist. Rise above it please.

This thread was created for one reason and one reason only, to stir up trouble. i.e. trolling.

Get a life big_white_dog84. Your sectarian views are not welcome on this forum. I strongly suggest you refrain from posting such crap in the future.

End of discussion.
