These dual GPU's cost a lot of money, regardless of vendor.

This has been my problem too. As it turns out, the games I bought since getting my 295X2 in Sept have all been without a Crossfire profile, so I might as well have bought a 290X. Hopefully that will change now though, and I know Ubisoft are at least 50% responsible for the Far Cry 4 Crossfire SNAFU.

I bought a 290x reference on release (£499.99) and then a 295x2 for £699.99. I'm currently using all three in my system
That's a ridiculous amount on GPU's
Don't get me wrong, I am annoyed at AMD. I managed to complete Dying Light at 2160p at 40fps with most things at max other than view distance and AA.
I would have preferred a crossfire profile and 60fps+ but it was actually still playable.

COD: Avanced Warfare - Ghosts too apparently,a nd we know how long that been out.
From what I saw in reviews, Civ Beyond Earth doesnt scale.

Course it does, people might wanna use 4k screens, use vsr etc, that's the reason we buy multi cards. Every single game should utilise multi gpu.

COD: AW and Ghosts is an issue with the game, there's not much AMD can do.
Civ: Beyond Earth has Mantle and uses Split Frame Rendering which only can support 2 GPU's at the moment.
