The AMD Driver Thread

That's it?

Or for once-just lost for words.....?:p

Some words..... :P

Cyberpunk RX 7800XT FSR 3 vs FSR 4 testing.

Output Res 1440P.
Rasterization Graphics all set to highest possible.
Ray Tracing settings.
RT Reflections: On
RT Sun Shadows: On
RT Local Shadows: On
RT Lighting: Ultra

FSR 4 Native AA: 28.35 FPS (100%)
FSR 3 Native AA: 29.49 FPS (104%) (+4%)

FSR 4 Quality: 52.20 FPS (181%)
FSR 3 Quality: 56.42 FPS (199%) (+8%)

FSR 4 Balanced: 60.81 FPS (214%)
FSR 3 Balanced: 67.12 FPS (237%) (+10%)

FSR 4 Performance: 73.00 FPS (257%)
FSR 3 Performance: 80.94 FPS (285%) (+11%)

So there is a performance difference between FSR 3 and 4 on RDNA 3 GPU's, but its quite small compared to the overall performance gain using either of them and the Image quality with FSR 4 is far better than FSR 3.

How does it compare to the leaked version you tested?

If you're asking about image quality IDK yet, not tested for that yet but i will say it was very obvious to me that FSR 4 had a better image quality, even at higher upscaling settings, with FSR 3 you can see the shimmering on the green bottles in the bar already at quality settings, you couldn't even see that on performance setting with FSR 4.

@AMD_Vik any news on the subnautica bug with igpu enabled. No rush as my 9800x3d has died
Our repro for this is inconsistent. The colleagues who originally brought this up have had the issue eliminated since a factory reset install procedure, though we did still get input from the ISV on this. Perhaps we can verify with the amfrtdrv64 binary you have present under a failing scenario?

No, I was mostly wondering if they optimised it during the delay or if they seemingly released it as it was.

The performance loss is moot because dropping FSR 4.1 to balanced or even performance still looks better than FSR 3 quality. So you end up with better IQ and better FPS.
