The AMD Driver Thread

A Dying Light and FarCry4 Crossfire profile will be in our next drivers. Both these games will see some performance optimisations too for single card users. :)

FarCry4 is a game released 4 months ago. I bought Evolve yesterday, and guess what ? My crossfire works but it works very bad... it's better when i'm using one gpu only  Guess what ? yesterday the green team released a new driver, and a SLi profile...

But i have no choice if i want to play my games with my 3 monitors (5760 x 1080), i need CF or SLi :( :(

I've also found that even older games have crossfire issues at 4K. I was running them in crossfire at 1080p fine, but moving to 4K and I get flickering or massive juddering and framerate issues. Going back to a single card removes these issues.

Really disapointing as 4K is when you need the extra power.

LOL at far cry 4 profile now, How can a company who makes graphics cards for enthusiasts expect them to wait 4 months to play a game properly.

You do understand that it wasn't because of amd don't you.. Ubisoft had issues with Crossfire and disabled it until it was fixed..

You do also understand that it isn't always in AMDs hands to support crossfire most of the work is down to the development of the game.

;)Hi Matt

I know it's been asked about before but could AMD reintroduce cap files as its so painful waiting on full release of driver.

Usual item in post;)

Or more frequent beta's with smaller amounts of updates - tried maxing the settings in Elite last night, and lets just say that using supersampling really needs more than one card!

The more you try and do in one set of updates, the more there is to go wrong. Releasing more frequent but smaller updates will make it far easier to narrow down any particular issues that arise.

More frequent beta's would be better

That way at least there aren't 100's of configurations of newer CAPS with older incompatible drivers etc etc that AMD would have to try and deal with.

I got bad lag with VSR (3k) in Elite. I put it down to a single GPU not quite being up to it. Looking forward to the crossfire profile..

That's usually the most likely explanation. I remember using Battlefield's resolution scaling with 2x290P cards at 150% =4K from 1440P used to cause me massive input lag, even though fps were around 60.

Im taking a time out on Elite until the release of wings DLC or crossfire profile whatever comes first.................
