The AMD Driver Thread

can someone explain this line please

AMD FreeSync and AMD CrossFire™ Support:

AMD FreeSync and AMD CrossFire™ can now be used together in applications using DirectX® 10 or higher. Please note, this feature is currently not supported on systems configured in AMD Dual Graphics mode.

to me this reads as, you can use freesync on crossfire setups, but its currently not supported with dual graphic cards, ie crossfire lol...am I just having a brain fart moment here lol.

Brain fart.

Dual Graphics = APU + DGPU.

Been using FreeSync at 4K in QuadFire for a while now.

Finally we got these 200 branch drivers officiall released (15.200.1046.0).

Everything is working flawlessy here. 3dmark API tests show that these have all overhead optimisations onboard.

3dmark API

1040.0

DX11 MT 1 203 383
DX11 ST 1 252 605

1023.10

DX11 MT 1 216 165
DX11 ST 1 290 934

15.7

DX11 MT 1 223 682
DX11 ST 1 284 336

VSR and Framerate control works flawlessy on 7970 :)

Can't wait for my Fury X to arrive.

Does this driver bring the enhanced performance to 290-cards or do these remain gimped vs. the rebrands (390-series)?

There not gimped at all.. The 390 etc has much better power efficiency and performance its just faster than a 290..

You didn't really think after all the tweaking on the 300 series it was just going to perform same has 200 series did you?

Well that was great, what a **** on ive just had.

Uninstalled old drivers, but when the screen goes black while uninstalling, mine didn't come back on, kept saying 'No Signal Detected', so i didn't know when the drivers were off, so i waited about 5 minutes to make sure, before hard restarting.

Had to do a Start Windows Normally (due to hard restarting), and then had to run the Cat Uninstaller again to remove it, before restarting again, and installing these.

Never had that before, ever, but im on a new monitor now via DP (was on DL-DVI before), so is that the problem, and am i going to have to dig out my old screen, and rig it back up everytime i want to pop new drivers on, or just carry on doing what ive just done ? :D

Hmmm AMD Accelerated Video Transcoding is missing from the menu when I try to do a manual install. All the others are there. Why is it missing  Never had this before.

This driver seems to have also improved my temperatures on my cards compared to the drivers through WU on Win10.

Both cards were reaching 75C and are now only reaching 69C and 71C respectively. VRM1 on the second card was reaching 95 and now seems to max out at about 88C, very pleased with these drivers.

What tweaking? faster memory and small OC.

Tests have confirmed an 390x clocked at 290x speed is the same performance.

 They are the same chip and perform identically clock for clock. This has been proven by Hardocp, among others. This has also been proven by people using hacked 390-series drivers with their 290-cards, gaining performance.

Do you happen to have igpu enabled do you? When I have had that in the past, it'd because when I removed drivers, the display would switch over to igpu.

They was a video from huddy couple weeks ago, explaining the difference between 2x and 3x..

thanks Matt...

Anyone else that play Ark Survival here? I'm now getting flickering textures on the trees and vegetation, not using crossfire as the game does not support it. Was like it on previous set.

Again... can anyone with a 3440x1440 screen confirm to me that VSR doesn't show up in CCC? I want to make sure its normal.
I know ultra wide VSR resolutions arn't really supported so im curious if that's why it doesn't show up in my CCC?
