The AMD Driver Thread

The modded drivers are worth it as they come with performance tweaks that aren't yet in the release builds.

This one has the Adaptive Frame Rate thingy-ma-jig in it and already activated for R9 200 if you don't want to mess about in the registry.

Guys I installed this drivers this morning, and CCC won't start:
AMD Catystal Control Center cannot be started.
There are currently no settings that can be configured using CCC.

I have Windows 7,what's the problem then?Installation was successful.

These Drivers are coming thick and fast

I'm currently running 1023.7 with Dynamic Frame Rate Control on my 290 in Win 8.1, great Drivers.

i'm wondering if its worth constantly updating given how often they are coming, or should i just wait 3 weeks for Win 10, is there anything in 1023.10 thats not in 1023.7?

Yup that sure is great, windows 10 and 3xx series getting all the love whilst the vast majority of 2xx series and W7/8.1 owners are left behind....

I'm dual booting Win 7/ 10 and have 1040 drivers on both. Until a new driver number passes 1040 im just gona stick with these 1040's.

Btw on Win 10 i lost my Intel iGPU monitors, Windows just isnt picking them up anymore since the last build update (worked fine on build 10130), anyone know whats going on with that? It fails when i try to install the latest Intel drivers too

;) :D

In all serious we don't know when it'll be ready, we've not been told much by AMD. "When it's ready" is probably the most accurate answer you'll get until AMD tell us otherwise. The modded 1040 drivers on Guru3D have semi-working Freesync Crossfire, it's a bit buggy though from what i've heard.

AMD is so slow it is just unreal. Free sync is out for a few months already yet the CF driver is still not available, absolutely unfair to those who bought 290x CF / 295x2. Also stopping people from buying their product because they wont be able to use it!
I really worry that pascal will beat AMD again then we will have to pay Nvidia for all those premium (G sync /poorly coded gamework stuffs)

We shouldn't have to do this though.

If some guy(s) on the internet can do this in their free time then it says an awful lot about AMD and their drivers atm....

Just for Win 10.

TBF, can you imagine the crucifixion that would happen if Win 10 shipped and AMD didn't have a driver ready?

They really can't win, whichever way they go, but I don't want to see older cards left behind either (I'm sticking on a 290 for a while, and I won't be instantly upgrading to 10 either). They need to get supported drivers out for the non-3xxx/Fury cards too.

Those guys don't have to worry about negative reactions if the modded drivers don't work.

AMD wouldn't hear the end of it if they failed for some reason slowing driver development even more. Much like the crap NVidia is having to put up with on their forums from random driver crashes in all their recent daily releases. They need a little more quality control then just simply compile, release and see what happens.
