The AMD Driver Thread

I just spent an hour in-game at the Mill and mine tomb and it's been running and looking perfect on a single Fury Tri-x. I am on high textures and the SSAA which is above FXAA but below the 2 AA's with x2 and x4. I'll have to go back to the last stutter area to see how it runs there but I'm under the impression it's fixed for my Fury..

Nice! Will buy it today :D

LOOK There's our answer to the question: Is 4gb's of HBM enough?

:D

Here what a devs says on steam forum, so I would say 4GB HBM isn't enough.
I had little stutter switching between cutscenes etc and sometime when entering a new part of the game.. since dropping down to high textures on my 290 I not had a single stutter since.

Also note that textures at Very High requires over 4GB of VRAM, and using this on cards with 4GB or less can cause extreme stuttering during gameplay or cinematics.

The game uses 4K textures on Very High settings hence why the need for more than 4GB. However if you were running a 6GB+ card @ 1440P or 1080P then you would essentially see the 4K textures downscaled which makes it pointless anyway. Another point is that all current cards cannot run ROTTR at a decent frame rate at 4K unless you go dual gpu.

Yeah just I am planning on picking up tomb raider this week probably so if the issue is affecting single AMD card users as well, I won't bother until AMD get their **** together :p :(

Runs great now bud, just didnt work with crossfire before but still ran really nice, it just means us dual gpu guys can run on very high/SMAA instead of high/fxaa now.

Ah well, if I encounter stutter, I'll just wait for a patch or driver update. I just hope the game doesn't drop to <£20 before that happens though :p

Everything maxed out + FXAA on a 390X @ 1080P uses 4067mb ( Afterburner ) / 4121mb ( GPU-Z)

Yeah i just creeped over 4gig a few times and got that stutter but its very rare and not worth turning down textures for, maybe theres a settings that we can turn down to give a little head room without it impacting the stunning graphics much.

Looks like memory leak guys - game needs to be patched and optimised in Siberia. They did great for the beginning of the game.

Soon as you get deeper in; its not just us stuttering; its also nvidia side. I'll see how the new drivers work.....as its only game causing this......it will memory leak; stutter and if it doesn't recover aka bring the memory back down from 4 gb; can cause driver to crash......

From yours truly i.e. TonyTurbo78 (banned again....) I had to censor a lot of what he said..... :D :D :D

you give me a Fallout 4 crossfire profile, but where is it, its not in the custom profiles anywhere, now when I play the game I get 36% on both cards, constant flickering everywhere and every character model has no head"

oh, and you've still not fixed the fluctuating core clocks after 3 months of being told

Crossfire 390's this is.

Ah, reminds me of gta 4, use to leak like a sieve that game, at least ya just get a stutter here, in gta it used to just start deleting buildings and roads :)

Well performance for tomb raider with everything on max is "ok", not great. No aa turned on, textures and shadows to high, everything else on max @2560x1080 21.9:

Cpu and VRAM usage is really low...... Although the vram, seems to be building up as game play time goes on.
