The AMD Driver Thread

I'm never happy with AMD anymore to be perfectly honest. Last cards I'll own from them, all Nvidia and single card from here onwards.

And yep, just tested The Division, Crossfire still flickering. Thanks AMD for making me believe the hype surrounding your incredible performance when running with the power of crossfire, thanks to you I've a £300 GPU I use in my rig as decoration, but what do you care huh.

And heres another piece of fantastic work by AMD, unable to now disable crossfire via each games profile for the games that dont work with crossfire...So now I have to keep on enabling and disabling the global crossfire settting depending on what game I play.

Is it so ******* hard AMD..you should come with the tag "Cant Get Right"

Watch the The Division Angry Joe review ..plenty of flicker on there so not entirely a crossfire problem.

SLI has the same problems as Crossfire.

I'm still chugging along with my 2x 290x's until they release a SINGLE Gpu thats as fast as them put together. When that happens these will be on the auction bay and I will be a single GPU owner again :D

With the latest games at 2560x1440 and max settings, you will be lucky to hold a consistent 60 fps let alone any higher.

Honestly though Tony, I wouldn't rule out AMD for single GPU as drivers are more than fine when it comes to that.

Not on latest games nope.

And i meant 100fps and up not 60fps, mind was elsewhere.....to really hit the higher fps on the 144hz freesync and gsync monitors, we really need crossfire or sli to do that. Might be able to achieve it running low details but who wants that on pc with super expensive gpu's lol.

Reading it again I think I misread it. I thought you were saying no card out can run higher resolutions than a 390/390X.

Same here, 1x EVGA Pascal card is where I'm going.

Though I do feel you should stop ranting and raving in this thread every 5 minutes, we know crossfire and AMD drivers are pretty bad lately, it's not news anymore.

If you'd done a bit of research into 290X crossfire before buying your 390 cards, you'd have known this too. No-one to blame but yourself I'm afraid.

Ranting and raving every 5 minutes lol...this is an AMD forum, I've AMD cards and a paying customer. I've every right to show my dissatisfaction towards their support of their products. This is a thread that gets looked at regularly by AMD ppl, so why not voice my concern and frustration.

I bought them as a step up from 7950 crossfire which was perfect back in the day, 8gb 390 crossfire for my freesync screen was the most sensible upgrade at the time, and probably still is due to the bang for buck you get on a 1440p Freesync screen.

what freesync screen do you have? Why don't you use it? IF you are getting 100+ fps on games, you don't need freesync.

Freesync and gsync both work best between 40 and 90fps. So turn off crossfire, turn on freesync and enjoy the game. The reason I ask about what monitor you have is that Asus MG279Q has a little bit of lag when freesync is on. (a limitation of the panel not freesync)

Multi card setups have always had issues (nvidia & ati) that's why people recommend a powerful single gpu.

Glad I don't play the latest games hahahaha, as it sounds like there's lot fo problemo's at the moment. Come on AMD... sort yourselves out if it's the case.

However we all know they won't.... people have whined about xfire and SLi for years... if you want it, we just have to accept that it's not perfect and no one will perfect it or it'd have been done now. Consoles rule, not PC's, we're last in the pecking order now... so game developers have other things to do to make money and AMD and nVidia don't care once they've sold their gear because they have a 50/50 monopoly... so they can do what they like.

Does the AMD driver work at 144hz or do you have to get a modded one, reason I ask is its been a while scince ive had a AMD card, monitor is the ASUS MG279Q.

Can't find anything about it searching google but I'm experiencing a flickering screen when browsing the internet in Chrome having updated to 16.3. Anyone know anything about this - assume I should just roll back to earlier version...

Finally someone else!!! I'm getting this issue too but can't find many people having the issues. It randomly flickers, goes blank and moves back to the top of the page for me.

You guys have hardware acceleration enabled?

Yep, if I don't disable it I get graphical corruption on many web elements.

I can run hardware acceleration no problems on my NVIDIA 980M, so definitely another AMD driver bug.

Note that I only get this problem with Displayport at 144Hz - HDMI, DVI etc are all fine at 60hz.

I had to disable Hardware Acceleration on my 780, 980 and 980Ti.
