The AMD Driver Thread

Trying to work out why I no longer have the option to change from RGB 4:4:4 pixel mapping etc with the latest drivers. Possibly the ones prior to them as well (so 16.4 and 16.3).

Still loads of settings missing with Crimson :(

Still using HDMI? I know with DisplayPort you cant change RGB levels anymore. Only HDMI for me.

Ah.... I am using a Club3D DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter so I can get 4K @ 60hz from my 380. So that would explain it.

So do you know if this is just a feature missing from the driver or something else?

I believe it's how DisplayPort works, I never been able to to change the RGB level. Only Hdmi has allowed me to do it.
Edit
Because DisplayPort is a PC only cable it's output is default Full RGB PC levels 0-255

I've just updated to windows 10 and have everything updated but cant seem to find the catalyst control centre. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled and when I click either the small icon or the start menu icon nothing happens. The small icon just disappears when I mouse over it.

Anyone know how to get to the CCC settings?

Just noticed AMD now allow you to fine tune overclocks for monitors, wondering if anyone knows what settings to use to try and achieve 75HZ on my LG 29um65?

I believe some have been able to get 75HZ without frame skipping on nvidia systems

Any ideas on where to start?

if you add curves, HDR and DP1.3, I will buy :P

No mention of curves although given that pretty much all of the recent 21.9 monitors have a curve, I wouldn't be surprised if there was, hopefully nothing too steep though....

HDR is still a long long long way of and they won't be cheap:

I can't see how 'HDR' can be achieved on any LCD monitor. Zonal backlight control or per-pixel control is required to meet the contrast demands of HDR. Given the contrast precision required for computing tasks (black text on a white background, for example) zonal control is really out of the question for LCD monitors which is why it has not been used thus far. So that leaves backlightless technology such as OLED - the first wave of HDR monitors will not be cheap. :p

:(

But yeah with the new GPUs around the corner, hopefully DP 1.3 will be a standard for monitors from now on... heck even DP 1.4 has been certified now.... just goes to show how far behind we are :o

Now that sounds nice :)

Meant to say 144HZ:

There are some 30" UltraWide panels on the way from AUO (2560 x 1080 and 3440 x 1440 parts, 144Hz VA) which might interest those who wanted just a little bit of extra screen space or a higher resolution.

30" 2560x1080 144HZ 21.9 will be the sweet spot for me, hopefully they will have freesync too.

3440x1440 is just too demanding for another year or 2 I reckon, free/g sync will help keep low FPS "smooth" but motion clarity still suffers and to get the true potential of 100+HZ displays, you need to be hitting those FPS.
