The AMD Driver Thread

Correct Stu. If the displays and timings are identical, then the GPU may remain in 2D. It does also depend on the AIB GPU/Bios as well, some models have different MCLK states so that the GPU will ramp up, even with two identical displays running at the same resolution.

Is there any plans in the long future for a recording software from
the RTG team?

And not from 3rd party dev's...?

Maybe?? You cant tell? Close the eye if you cant say :p

Sorry if its been posted anywhere else but i get this when i try 16.6.1..
When it's analyzing my system, up comes a window popup saying (error message)"Detection Driver Error--contact AMD for assistance"

Every other driver works fine...Im on Win7 64bit with a Sapphire R9 390
Any help would be welcome guys

Woohooo.
upgraded to newest beta.

darkssouls 3 now has a working crossfire profile
Yes there is very minor flickering at various bits of the game, but I can get over that because the scaling is pretty much 100%

Max settings on 4k running solid 60fps on 290x crossfire

I'm genuinely surprised to see so many people having problems, Crossfire problems aren't surprising but since AMD fixed the low power state bug in early Crimson I've updated with every release and it's all worked faultlessly. I hope you guy's figure it out so you can get back to gaming.

So recently went to Crimson to try the Doom demo and installed the 16.6.1 drivers and all has been fine for a week or so, but ran into a little issue today.

Upon loading Windows, the fans on my 290 vapor-x locked themselves to 100% for 2-3min. I've not touched overdrive settings in crimson, I've not even accepted the terms & conditions there. The spin down did seem to coincide with me opening the Radeon settings (to check overdrive hadn't somehow come on), but it could just be coincidence.

It's not done it before on the older drives ( I was on 15.7.1 before going to Crimson) and I assume it's not hardware, otherwise it would have done it before windows and the drivers loaded, so I guess it must be something to do with Crimson.

Any ideas? Just Crimson bugging out? Already rebooted a couple of times since then, and it didn't do it.

RTG Broke the chain with the fast driver updates :P
I know they are working on polaris support and stuff like that,
lets see if we get new features with the launch of polaris!
Cheers!

Anyone else seen the 'no disk in drive' error with these drivers? I've had it intermittently on first loading into Windows since Crimson appeared - then labelled more mysteriously cnext.exe - now rather more identifiable as RadeonSettings.exe?

oh, I had that yesterday. Same message as well. I thought I had randomly clicked something.

Just grabbed ROTTR from the Steam Sale.

In Xfire, does anyone get flickering during the 2nd benchmark run (in that cave), on that tower right in the middle thats got the dome on top ?

Only fired it up to run a quick bench for now, to see how she runs.

These are my Settings, could it be one of these causing it ?

Thats the only thing wrong with it, the rest of the benchmark runs fine without any issues, and when running a single card, its all fine. :p

Im on the Crimson 16.3s btw, and Win 7, so Dx11.

Try playing the game. If you don't get this in game play then all is good. Possible try the 16.6.1 drivers and see if this still happens.

Yeah im gona give it a try tomorrow, hopefully its just that part during the benchmark :)

EDIT: Just tried it again with the Lens Flares off, and its fine, so must be a problem with those.

Also, im using FreeSync, so do i need any of the double/triple buffering on ?

Well started it, and it seems fine, no graphical issues at all, although just done the beginning part with yer mate, and the next bit where you enter the cave in Syria, after getting out of the crashed jeep :p

Runs superb, im getting about 80/100fps (have it capped to 100fps), but boy does it push my cards, top card hit 81 (never seen above 79 before), and bottom hit 75 :D

sounds like possibly windows fubared your drivers install by either stealth installing update or downgrade....

Had that happen once; ddued; and reinstalled the latest drivers and all fixed.....it was very much a windows issue
